Description
Markus "Wayne" Schlegel, the author of the A Hunt through the Dark series has formed a team to create his own interpretation of the mother of all AD&D computer roleplaying games: THE POOL OF RADIANCE. The legendary story of ssi's classic is split into 3 chapters with many details, roleplaying elements and deep atmosphere.
Adventurer's journal with many background information, maps and installation notes. This journal is already included into the main download of version 1.6.1.2.1.0 and higher.
This is the final version of Pool of Radiance Remastered.
We did our best to make it stable and we've spent many hours to add polish and depth. we thank the community for their ideas and suggestions. Many of them found their way into this final version.
We hope you like the final game. It is a straight forward old-school single-player roleplaying game - no more, no less.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Attention! Old saved games of version 1.4.1.0 and lower will NOT work with this version. Please export your character at the end of chapter 2 and start a new game. You will have the opportunity to go directly to chapter 3.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am unable to unzip the file in its entirety. I keep getting a message saying that Pool of Radiance Remastered - 2.mod is corrupt. and this happens no matter how many times I've downloaded this.

My memory of the old C64 version is somewhat foggy, so I can't really comment on the differences, but a lot of things eemed very familiar and it felt very old school in some places. In a good way. SPOILERS (Minor) Cons - The dialog felt wooden a lot of the time. This is of course not a real con since Markus is no native speaker (neither am I btw). - I envountered the Orcmask bug - I used this mod as my first try at the warlock class and felt some of the battles were rather hard. I guess the module is not very spellcaster-friendly Pros - Overall a great piece of work. - Good effort at expanding the quest driven original and flesh out the story behind the settlement of new Phlan - No real bugs that couldn't be worked around - Lovely areas

I would love to be able to finish the module. Would somebody be in position to advice a console command or some such to fire the spawns in Kuto's Well defence?

A very nice module. Reasonably long, with interesting and pretty well balanced encounters. Quite linear and role-play light. The development of town as the game progresses and the changing social status of the protagonist are very nice touches. Unfortunately I've had some glitches. Most notably quest entries not closing on completion. I have many open quests in my journal. Additionally I'm not sure if merchants have refreshed their stock like they seem to be supposed to. The armor mechant had a new nice piece of armor at the end, but that's it. Aldo's new shop is closed and old gone. The Council member advised a magic shop in the slums with best supplies, but there is none. The Apothecary there has the same basic stock of potions as he did from when he set up his shop. This is less of an issue, more like a feauture, but why set up crafting stations, when there don't seem to be crafting materials? I couldn't find any essences anyways (or essence-giving reagents). There are some ingots available, but no molds, etc. Normally I'm not much into crafting, but as the best spear I could find/buy for my Druid/Stormlord was Masterwork I hoped I could at least enchant something half-way decent, seeing all these benches, ingots, gems, etc. But no luck. Now I believe I am nearing the end, but have encountered some problem that has stopped my progress. During the recapture and defence of the Kuto's Well area we defeat two waves of orcs. I get a shout to prepare, because more enemy reinforcments are approaching: giants and ogres and... nothing happens. There are no transitions from the area, nobody has anything interesting to say, sleeping doesn't help either. It seems like a spawn failed to trigger and I'm locked in there. I already tried this 3 times, with various defender positions - and with the same effect. Too bad about the problems, because I really enjoyed playing the module. Would love to see how it ends. I also lowered my score because of these issues.

Finally finished this one! A nice and polished adventure, that felt very, very satisfying. Substracting 0.25 point for a slight bug which caused me to restart chapter 2. A complete campaign with concluded story. Didn't play Pool of Radiance before, so additional plus :)

Nice module. Lots of different stuff to do. Your companions coming and going was a bit annoying, but when they returned, they had all there equipment (no need to do any equipment stripping). I just used the equipment provided in the module and it got the job done.

Alright, I found the book but ran into another problem: I'm on the quest to retreive the paladin's hammer and the journal mentions a boat at the docks that would take me to the graveyard. However, there are no interactable boats or NPCs at the docks.

Where in the library do I find Urgund's Description of Darkness? I got the other 3 quest books in the interactable shelves except for that one.

Very well-made mod, a must play for those who have missed out the original PoR game like me. Got stuck for a bit for missing out the messenger after killing the orc warlord and the orc mask bug but otherwise very smooth. Also some wierd bug after killing the dragon (twice) when the dragon popped again, went through the dialogue and attacked the party again (but much weaker somehow), and the party kept chasing some invincible and invisible 'pool_speaker' Was there ever a sequel to the story? It seemed unfinished.

This has been by far, the best NWN2 module I've played so far...up until I hit the Orcmask bug. I can't find any invisibilty potions and I can't get the console commands to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated !
