Importer/Exporter for BIC files, thus enabling you to modify your characters in toolset and make npcs of your favorites characters.
**************** README ***************************
First of all, some Warnings and Disclaimers:
This is an EXPERIMENTAL version of a BIC file Importer/Exporter for the Toolset.
USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK
MAKE BACKUP COPIES OF YOUR CHARACTER FILES BEFORE YOU TRY IT
MAKE BACKUP OF YOUR MODULES BEFORE IMPORTING BLUEPRINTS
Ok, now that you are warned, how does it work?
Copy the InCharacter DLL File to your toolset plugin directory:
<Installation Path>/NWN2Toolset/Plugins
Open the toolset, make sure you have enabled Third Parties Plugins in options if you don't see it.
If you select the plugin InCharacter you will get a window showing up containing a listbox for messages,
one checkbox and three radio buttons for options, and three buttons
1) The first button Import, is to Import a BIC file and make a Blueprint out of it. The new blueprint
will go to your Modules tabs. Very handy to create NPCs out of some characters of yours.
The inventory will be transferred incorrectly, though checking the "Create items Blueprints" box will
correct this but will create items blueprints at the same time in your module,
which might then override existing blueprints you have.
2) The second button Export, is for exporting a creature blueprint into a BIC file.
Unfortunately, there will be fields missing which will cause the client to crash if you were to load such a file.
So here is the deal: you provide a valid bic file (character file) and the plugin will make a mix of the blueprint
and of the character file you've chosen.
This allows you to import one of your character, then modify it and export it again using the original
character file again. I know it's a little complicated but the client would crash if some fields were missing...
3) The third button Exit, is to close the window.
The checkbox is for Help Mode. Checking it will provide extra messages.
The radio buttons are for the creature inventory.
"As Is" will import the creature inventory without any modification. Actually it can make trash, but it can also work
ok with a new character. I give this option should Obsidian modify their code.
"Strip Items" will completely delete the creature inventory.
"Create items blueprints" will make the necessary fixes for the items to appear in the creature inventory.
You might notice some tint troubles in the Toolset, but have no fear it should appear correctly in game.
Enjoy!

The source files are included, should you find I'm too slow to update this :p.

Perfectly done, no errors no flaws, works perfectly and on every character I've tried hands down, doesn't do new inventory but I don't know if its really supposed to.
Either way its priceless and the extra stuff can be done by other means. Thanks man.
I am running the NWN2 toolset through Steam and as such it says its version is 1.0.1765.0. I assume this is dated since it was released on Steam and that it already has 1.23 contained within it, as I have read that NWN2 does not need to be patched if obtained via Steam. I downloaded it to the specified path and went into Visual C# 2010 Express and updated the references. I am not schooled in C#, but I updated the references to the .dlls that were contained earlier in the folder tree and everything seemed to build correctly. I then went into bin/Release and copied the InCharacter.dll from there and pasted it where all the other .dlls for plug-ins are. This did not work. I then added the seemingly missing reference to Sano.Utility.dll that you talk about in your readme, and that still did not work after updating the InCharacter.dll appropriately.
What am I doing wrong? Please help. I could truly use your plug-in.

If I'm going to have to download and learn how to use visual c# express just to use this then you could at the very least include that blurb of instruction on how to convert it to 1.23 in the readme file.

I've used this in the past and loved it and I'm coming back to replay the games but I can't find a copy that works with the current editor. I saw that TheSpaceCoyote recompiled it to work with the 1.23 toolset but the link where it is stored seems to be broken.
Is there an alternate download location for the 1.23 recompiled version?
It can't use in 1.23 patch. Would you please to update it? Thanks!

This is tremendously useful - it allowed me to play SoZ with a party consisting of Qara, Neeshka, and Shandra.
1) open project in visual c# express
2) add the references for OEIShared.dll,SandBar.dll and NWN2Toolset.dll
this is why it must be recompiled for each different version
3) generate and you're done, you will find the InCharacter.dll in your bin/Release drawer
Sorry reverting to old updates is near impossible to me but not for you!
All you need is to grab Visual Studio Express C# from microsoft, it's free and compile the plugin with your version. Seriously if you can handle NWN2Toolset you can handle a recompilation in Visual Studio very easily :)

Fantastic tool!
The directions were a little unclear at first, but once I sorted out what you meant it worked near-perfect!
Some things I'd recommend is clarifying the instructions and fixing the spelling errors, and the plugin window moves under the TS window when the mouse rolls over the viewing area... but that might just be my TS acting up again, not your plugin.
Again, Great work! _________________________ The Obsidian Shore Link
