There are two integral parts to this tool, one which is a stand-alone Conversation Editor program which uses XML files, and the other a NWN2 Toolset plugin that converts NWN2 conversations to and from the XML format used by the stand-alone program. I wrote it because I wanted to edit conversations for modules on my low-end laptop, and the toolset already takes 25+ seconds to start up on my main computer.
Change list:
Separated Flamewind Conversation Editor program, NWN2 Toolset Plugin file, and source code for plugin into .zip files available for separate download if desired.
Updated the Readme file to include .NET framework requirement and more detailed instructions on installing plugins.
11/29/07: Fixed an error related to node order with links, possibly the error jackyo reported. Updated ConversationEditor and LatestBundle zip files, also added version for latest patch of NWN2.
1/08/08: Fixed another error related to the node order with links. Updated ConversationEditor and LatestBundle zip files.
12/30/08: Changed Conversation Editor so pressing delete while editing text deletes letters from text instead of deleting entire node.
10/30/09: Added latest version for latest NWN2 patch.
This file contains the uncompiled source code files, written in C#.NET, for the NWN2 Toolset plugin. You will probably only need these if you are looking for an example while writing your own NWN2 Toolset plugins.
This file includes the both the version of the plugin for the 1.23.1765 patch as well as the stand-alone Flamewind Conversation Editor program. Choose this if you have never installed either.
This file includes only the stand-alone Flamewind Conversation Editor program. In order to convert files to and from the NWN2 conversation format, you will also need to install the plugin, which is available separately.

Oh, and it's been downloaded over 1300 times and has only got 19 votes!

This does exactly what it sets out to do with no problems for me.

Fantastic! Just fantastic. Now I can do conversations away from my desktop with just a thumbdrive. Very useful. _________________________ The Wizard's Apprentice - A single player adventure for spellcasters guaranteed to rumple your robes and warp your wand!

I'll second this "Any chance of a new version for 1.22?"

Oh thank goodness the delete key is fixed! How many times I erased conversations accidentally. _________________________ Shadow Thief: Crimmor and Path of Evil blog Link

A good tool. Having more features would make this much better. As it is, it's good, it works and is useful.

When I unzipped LatestBundle_1_11_1153.zip it somehow altered the directory the zip file was in. Now a couple open source programs I use, FreeCommander and Notepad++, will not run properly in that directory. FreeCommander crashes when I try to open the directory.

Another call to ask for a recompile to version 1.12!

Hi Kethlak,
great tool, saved me a bunch of trouble - any chance of a recompile for 1.12?

After having used your great tool for quite some time now, I'm just here to report one recuring little misunderstanding that soon gets annoying when one is editing a convo inside your tool. What is it? Well, it is the fact that when one is using the delete button while working on the text of any convo node, it doesn't behave at all like convo editor inside OEI's convo editor, the one to which one is accustomed. There delete button means starting erasing letter by letter where the prompt is. In your editor, it means a much bigger thing, and thus pressing delete, accidentally, instead of backspace, this causes a number of precious convo noded just go POFF into thin air and vanish! Fortunately, there is an undo option on one of your menu dropdowns, and one will have to press it several times before one can restore what one single pressed delete has causes. Please Flamewind, if you still have the time and the will, would you be able to set the use of the delete button so that it mimicks the TS convo editor, it would be really, realy great! Once again, thanks for an otherwise spotless tool! :) _________________________ From someone who is starting to feel like an Ent among saplings when playing computer-based D&D games...

Thank you Kethlak for having made this helpful tool for NWN2! Thanks to its existence, I'm able to work a bit more on my mod everyday than I otherwise would have. _________________________ From someone who is starting to feel like an Ent among saplings when playing computer-based D&D games...
I've had problems with it stripping out all actions, etc. when converted back and forth. Still, it's useful for initial sketching so -- any chance of a 1.07beta recompile?
Please send an error report and, if possible, a copy of the conversation you are editing when you receive the errors, to [email protected]. Thanks!

Ive encountered a pretty serious bug - anytime you use the Move Node Up/Move Node Down, you shortly thereafter get an exception error. I can repeat this and generate this error at will.
Kethlak - are you still checking these comments? I can send you an error report - just tell me where ... _________________________ Jackyo [email protected]
