DISCLAIMER: I have been informed there are some issues with this UI mod and the 1.03 patch (aside from the normal issues it has :P)
This is a compilation of UI mods made by Slate or myself.
It includes slimhealthbars (which are draggable), an improved chat window, improved hotbar, improved spells known/memorized windows, a draggable playermenu, and a draggable quickcast bar.
Unzip into one of the following 2 directories. The ini file must go into the C:\Program Files\Atari\Neverwinter Nights 2\UI\default directory.
1) MyDocuments\NWN2\UI\Default
or
2) C:\Program Files\Atari\Neverwinter Nights 2\UI\default (if it is on the default installation path)
Backup any files before overwriting them.
Much credits and thanks to Slate. His vault profile is here: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=User.Profile&id=6701
any way to get the movable quickslot bar by itself?
everything else is distorted by the 1.03 patch, and the chatbox refuses to be selected, or to even show chat!
someone please post something with just the movable quickslots... _________________________ __________________________________________________
Megadeth has a very intelligent way of talking about governments and religions: Either they bullshit you or try to kill you for not being one of them. I wholeheartedly agree.
(Note: Just because Mustaine is christian doesn't mean he believes EVERYTHING the bible tells him.)

Very nice UI (I use it in combination with Xui). The only thing I miss is a resizable input box with border, outside the chat window itself (A button with a drop down menu of all the emotes would be also very much appreciated ;-)
Not fully compatible with the 1.03 beta patch. At least I get several distortions. Like the slim healthbars and small spell icons though.

Some very useful UI improvements. I liked this one for the movable quick cast and smaller spell book icons. Not being able to click through the party bar buff space was a problem for me. _________________________ Charlie's UI | Charlie's Item Modifier | Charlie's Starter Scripts
Ith, thanks for your feedback. I'm about to go get a new DVD drive, but then I have to go to work. I'll see what I can do about making it so that there is a button for each window rather than the whole window so it doesn't ruin movement. I'll check it out when I get home tonight.

I'm using the multiplayer chatbox modification and removed everything else from this suite, especially when I realized the movable quickspell and party bars disallow the use of the mouse clicking on the left and right portions of the screen for movement. That's a pretty huge sacrifice and makes the game nearly unplayable from a top down perspective.
Ayoina, I don't have my disc at my house at the moment (A friend came over and grabbed his dvd drive back from me with NWN2 still in it!). I'll check out what I can do with the other windows.
Originally I forgot to include the proper .tga file for the vertical hotbar so it may look messed up. It should be fixed now.

I'm loving this UI change. Thanks!

When I say "this should really have been included in the game from launch", don't take it as any less than praise ;-) It's a great mod.
A suggestion:
The changes made to the sizes of the spellbook and memorized spells windows are great, especially for someone like me, who plays the game at 1600x1024. Would it be possible to do the same with the character pane (only extending the window in this case, not changing the size of the information), the quest journal and the item information window?
Thanks for a great and absolutely essential mod.

Ok. There is a problem with the chat bars at 800x600 only displaying 1-2 lines of text. The 4-5 @1280x1024 that I'm seeing can be easily fixed to display all the text. Making it work for all resolutions is another issue, but I'll figure something out.
I'm a bit curious as to why the verticle bar isn't working for you. Is anyone else having this problem?

Oh, and vertical bar still isn't working. I've modified this heavily, using horizontal 2 row hotbar, got rid of the vertical bar, adjusted the chat boxes heavily, and haven't found a good reason to move the party bar, quckspell, etc. All in all some good stuff in here but the overall package just wasn't very useful to me because I ended up geryrigging my own from various people's custom settings.
thanks

I've tried everything between 800 600 to 1280 1140(?). The problem is that you can only see about four lines of text... and that's not good for people who play on any kind of a RP oriented server. Trust me, people type more than four lines at a time... unless someone's RPing a mute PC.
Btw, I would recommend installing this and all other addons directly into override folder.
That way you still have defaults left when you just delete files from override
Did relocating the .ini fix the problem with the vertical hotbar?
I don't have much opportunity to do testing with the multiplayer chat boxes, but I'll look into more in detail.
What I'm working on right now involves being able to change the alignment of the hotbar (vertical or horizontal) as well as the number of rows/columns, and the transparency of it. It's nowhere close to release worthy at the moment. I decided to release what I had (thought) I finished now.
The Vault didn't seem to display the installation instructions I set in the form. I also thought it was the override file

Ok, dug around, and figured it out. Please rephrase to something like 'the ini file must go into C:\Program Files\Atari\Neverwinter Nights 2\UI\default'

Actually, let me qualify that. What do you mean by 'second directory'??

New version has clearer instructions, thanks. Thanks for actually including the correct content this time.
Like I said, a bit sloppy, but some good content. Still would like option for two row hotbar.

Vertical hotbar not displaying properly, would've prefered the double hotbar that was uploaded recently, plus chatbox doesn't display second line of what you're typing until the return carriage is hit, so you can't see what you're typing in chat box beyond the first line.
Very sloppy documentation/installation instruction.
I'll check and make sure the right xml is in the zip file. It should be though. When you guys go to drag the playermenu are you using the little * shaped icon? Seiseki my e-mail is [email protected]
Excellent, thanks for the work on this!! One question though.. Everything appears to work correctly except the moveable playermenu. Mayber I missed something?
Running 1920x1200 and I can for some reason not move the player menu. Everything else seems to work just great. Only thing I didn't install was the hotbar since I use another one with 3 rows. Shouldn't affect the player menu?

This may be good work but you need to put the correct installation directions in the description.
