As I am sure some of you have spotted, Obsidian/Atari have decided that we should be spared the more "creative" words in the English language - words such as cockerel and shitsu - which they feel are not right for inclusion in our character names ;)
It has also come to my attention that players wishing to list certain professions in their name have been prevented! For example, "Gregor the Analyst" was unhappy to find his name become "Gregor the lolyst".
Further more, fans of ice skating were horrified to discover that they were unable to make a character based on their favourite skater, Irina Slutskaya - "Irina ladyskaya" just didn't have the same ring to it!
Here is a UI modification that lifts the restriction on the names of our more amusing wildlife and professions in our player character names :)
I would characterize this as "a must have", thusly 9 / 10. Censorship is *bleep*ing moronic.

NwN2 isn't censored in Scandinavia... I created "funny" PC names without any problem. Even 'real names', eg. Adolf Hitler, Iosif Stalin - the game didn't object. Maybe in US of A. _________________________ ::RAWR::

only a moron censors language in a game, it pleases no one, not the parents, and not the players. The only game Ive seen it done well in was Dewprism.

Freedom is an illusion, And there never was such a thing as free speech it does not exsist. So what ever happen to free speech? It never happend in the 1st place and religion is the the biggest opposition of free speech. Take a look at history and all the people the church killed for speaking the truth :D

"words such as*bleep*erel and*bleep*su" Hi, 'shitsu' is not a word in any language. What you're looking for is 'shih tzu'. Not that it isn't totally *bleep*ing ridiculous that *bleep*ers put profanity filters in all their *bleep*ing*bleep*. But Bioware is not the only *bleep* that does it.

Well I was the first to post and I want to be the first to congratulate you! You did us all a great favor and now it has reached the Hall of Fame... well done! Though I must add: I wish one day things like this UI modification won't be necessary anymore. People should start to study History... the road which starts with censorship usually leads to a rather unpleasant end... it is better to avoid it.

I'm not likely to ever need this as most of my character's names are based on Welsh history/mythology or are just ones I think sound good! However, being dead against censorship I'm all for this mod, whilst I understand the fact that Obsidian HAVE to censor to get a certain rating, that doesn't mean I have to like it. Score one for freedom. _________________________ "Never be afraid to be the first one to resort to violence"

Props for making this! We should be able to choose our own names. Plus, the censor "tool" is biased language-wise, censoring legitimate names in russian, polish, etc
