This hakpak contains 60 heads taken from Knights of the Old Republic I (by Bioware) and II (by Obsidian). Some you will recognise very easily, whereas others have elements combined together from various heads.
Please report any problems you find. Or, if you're a fan of the KotOR games and don't see the head you want, let me know! I'll see what I can do to convert it. :-) (I didn't include Bastila because this head has already been converted by Taina.)
Contents:
29 female human heads
29 male human heads
1 female halfling head (human child)
1 male halfling head (human child)
Tattoo 1 = lips (females only, except for Bao Dur's horns, Darth Sion's wounds, and Uthar's facial tattoos)
Tattoo 2 = eyes (both sexes)
TERMS OF USE
1. Everyone is allowed to do whatever they like with this hakpak. This includes renaming the heads to make them work with your other stuff, or redistributing them as part of another hak. You don't have to ask permission, although of course I'd be interested to know if you're doing anything particularly novel with the heads. :-)
2. If you do choose to redistribute the heads, please credit my sources: the wonderful Bioware and Obsidian! ;-)
3. If Bioware / Obsidian / LucasArts request the removal of this hak, or part of it, I will comply. By downloading these heads, you agree that you will cease redistributing them in such a circumstance. (It's unlikely to happen, as they haven't made a fuss about other conversions, but I'm saying this just in case.)
v1.1: six heads added
v1.2: large phenotype added
v1.3: seventeen heads added; shadows fixed
UPDATE: No new heads, sorry - but I have added ProjectQ- and CEP-compatible versions to the download list. This involved renumbering the heads (and, in the case of the CEP, making a few small adaptations to a 2da file and a script - but as I am no expert in the Body Tailor this may end up having been in vain). Please try and let me know if they work well for you!
This Q- and CEP- compatible set of files offers two alternative numbering systems for human heads (in the 100s or the 200s) so that builders can add whichever best suits their modules' scripting systems and other custom content to their custom hak. [FYI, standard numbering in the other Q/CEP haks is in the 100s.]
CEP-compatible. No demo module (for now, at least); just a hak containing heads renumbered not to interfere with any CEP heads and a couple of files that (I think) are needed to make Body Tailor handle the new heads. Please test and give feedback! :-)
The hakpak version of the package; download also contains a demo module. Use 7Zip or WinRAR to decompress the hakpak to your NWN/hak directory and the module to your NWN/modules directory. :-)
Q- and CEP-compatible. While there is no difference in the numbering here compared with the other new compatibility versions, there's a small difference in the (hopefully correctly) adapted head 2da and script for the Body Tailor. Please test and give feedback! :-)

The one thing that could be improved about a few of these is the placement on the neck, too low/far back. Probably an issue with the originals but I bet they could be adjusted. Particularly, the fifth one from the left in the next to last row is one of my favorites but it sits too low so the neck looks oddly short, especially with certain animations. Overall though, these are infinitely better than the original nwn heads.
Henesua: Thanks - I'm glad you like them. I'm a big fan of Q too. :-)
Markrendl: I build a fair bit with the CEP as well, so making the heads compatible was in my own interests as much as anything else. Thanks for letting me know that they pass your initial tests. They passed a quick test for me as well, but more attempts at testing ensure higher reliability. (This is particularly so considering that, for all that I've built with the CEP for years, I have nothing near the deep understanding of its workings that a good CEP PW builder would have.)

Wow. This is a great addition. Especially with the Q compatibility. Thanks! _________________________ Vault Submissions | Arnheim | Beyond Vives

Excellent work. Appreciate the CEP compatible release; works just fine in initial testing.

I see these around all the time and they're always really great. Ignoring the fact that both sets of heads are awesome, it's very nice to actually get some male heads with decent detail for Neverwinter Nights.
UPDATE: Q- and CEP-compatible versions are now offered. I really hope they work properly for everyone. Please test and give feedback. :-)
Thanks for the lovely comments, everyone. :-D
PoisonTheMonkey: I'm glad to know the override is working for you. I find it a bit buggy on some of the model/texture matching - for me, some show the textures for helmets and somesuch. Don't know why. :-/
Thank you, Olivier Leroux! I know what you mean - modders are generally more enthusiastic about female heads (it seems - or at least heads based on Aribeth, as about half of the vast plethora of females seem to be). It's great to have this resource of male heads to be able to convert and share. :-)
Mistress / Realms: Yes, of course I know who you mean! Om nom nom... ;-) Amusingly, I have just started running a tabletop game that's a prequel to the campaign in which he first appeared. In spite of the fact that none of the players from the first game are in this one (which was essential for them not to know the plot, really), they are already shipping him with the lead female NPC. *big grin* Be not concerned for the 9.5 - Vault voting standards are truly silly when we ask ourselves if we may offend with anything less than a perfect score (though I have certainly felt that way at times myself). Still, just to make sure, are you referring to the fact that I didn't make the guys' lips tattoo-tintable? If so, that's just a matter of my personal taste, though I do think that the dudes you altered in this way looked good.
PHoD: Worry not! Trinity is the oldest uni in Ireland, so it's only natural. (Maynooth is the second-oldest, though - mwahaha!) Actually, it's nice you know about any of our universities at all. _________________________ KotOR Heads FR Deity and Faction Cloaks Fall-from-Grace Soundset
Many thanks for Mr. Yummy (and you KNOW which one I mean!) Some very nice choices in here for an oriental or egyptian setting. As much as I want to vote a 10, I can't since *some* of the plts from the models we selected didn't make full use of lip and eye coloring.

Thank you, Estelindis! Finally some handsome male heads for NWN (not to mention the awesome females)!

We've been using the haks, but we were able to get around it by asking anyone who wanted to use them during character creation, to download the overrides as well. _________________________ Obsidian Shore, a HoF 9.8 heavy roleplaying PW. Ooooh, comments! Things have been happening while I've been working away on my doctorate and the Custom Content Challenge...
Jezira: No updates on the clothes for now, sorry. I've kinda been distracted by the CCC. But I will happily send you my WIPs if you want to stick them in a PW- or module-specific hakpak in the meantime.
Andarian: Gasp! I'm honoured, but I'm also kind of embarrassed. I know I had to put a lot of work into these heads, but that's largely because I'm not as experienced as many other CC makers. Someone else could've done it much quicker, with less trial and error. (I mean, the first time I wanted to add flex to something, I copied the vert weights from an ASCII model into a spreadsheet and did it there, where I could see the vert numbers as row numbers, because I didn't know how to do it by changing vert colour. Seriously!) Of course, working on the heads has helped me to improve, but I still have a long way to go, and there are many things about these heads I could do better if I learned more. Ultimately, I'd be happy if someone else's work got the award. But I am grateful for the nomination. Thank you.
Raven: thank you!
Plushie: thanks also. Particularly glad you like Juhani. She has a very pretty face, doesn't she? (I often think that Bioware works harder to make bald girls pretty. See Jack in Mass Effect 2, for instance.) Anyway, I'm kinda surprised to see this in the Hall of Fame as the slightly silly voting conventions we're all used to here on the Vault make me see 9.94 as a low score! But woot and hooray for HoFness. :-)
Jedijax: as I said to Jezira, I'd be happy to send you a copy of the clothing I've already worked on if you like, so you can at least have something while you wait. I assure you: I'm motivated! It's just that I have so many little projects to work on, as well as the CTP, which I have shamefully neglected for the sake of these little distractions - and, um, my actual PhD, in "real life" - that I'm genuinely not sure when next I'll get a chance to work on the clothing conversions. On the plus side, though, working with the Custom Content Challenge has given me an incentive to get to understand robes and skinmesh, so that might help me to better convert some of the clothing in future. Particularly the swooshy dressy things and jedi robes. :-) _________________________ KotOR Heads FR Deity and Faction Cloaks Fall-from-Grace Soundset

Sorry I didn't answer before, Estelindis. Been wandering over other pages, dealing with technical issues of NWN mostly, so I just looked at the pictures you linked.
I'm amazed. Simply amazed. And it would be so tempting to try and convince you to release what you already have, but I agree; from a practical point of view, it would be best to have more material before release.
I really thank you for what you have done, importing all this goodies from KOTOR, working them to be fully functional NWN models, and can only hope you feel motivated enough to keep doing it. If there's anything I can help with, let me know.

These are fantastic! Though, our PW is having a problem. When we use them, only the server host can use them. Any idea what the problem is? _________________________ Obsidian Shore, a HoF 9.8 heavy roleplaying PW. Dark and gritty fairytale world with the opportunity to do and change the world as you wish. Thanks for the very kind comments, Valyn, Ascendia, Senemenelas, and Izk. :-)
FYI, since I last posted here I discovered that there are enough slots to make this compatible with the CEP. I just need to get around to doing the actual work. Along with the conversions to other races, and all the other heads I haven't touched yet (including the various aliens). And then there's clothing... Gasp! :-D _________________________ KotOR Heads FR Deity and Faction Cloaks Fall-from-Grace Soundset

Wow! This is the first time I've seen these. Did I say "wow", already? I'll say it again. Wow! Excellent work, Este!
Decent looking player/NPC heads are something I can never get enough of, and these are excellent. Also, I've been working on some custom NPC appearances using full creature models instead of dynamics, and I can see I'll have to "borrow" a few of these (w/full credit to you, of course). Thank you for sharing these, Ms. Estelicious! ;)
I'd love to see these in a CEP-compatible form, but I understand your dilemna. The few human head #s they didn't use I've filled with some Jenx heads and a few of my own. It's a shame Bioware couldn't/didn't increase the limits on stuff like this with the final patch.

Don't remember if I ever voted on these, so I'm making sure to do so now. Using them in a project of mine, great work porting them over Estelendis! _________________________ Arcadia City Tileset

Ugh, that's what I was afraid I'd have to do, the long and tedious approach. Ah well, another task for the to-do-list.
thanks

Just re-number both .mdl and .plt files to avoid overwriting cep heads, and also re-number the .mdl internal data with a text editor, then place them in either the override folder, or a new hak, Just remember, not all heads appear in the Aurora toolset, in case you are a builder... though then again, if you were, you would know how to do this and would also know heads from 46 to 99 don't appear. ;)
