Travelers from all over the realm have made the journey to Port Maddog to attend The Midsummer Carnival Of Wonders. But for the guild called The Shadowdwellers, it is not a time of celebration. Prince Garrick, the rightful heir to the throne, has been kidnapped. Deep beneath the streets of the fog-shrouded city, a meeting has been arranged. A man named Scathe claims to have information vital to Prince Garrick's rescue and safe return. He'll give it to you... for a price. Much better than the first one. Bad there is no sequel.
bugs:
- one blank journal entry(missing heir quest) at the end
- no XP for traps, locked doors(there were few only) etc.
- doors need keys - so why a rogue, when you cant pick locks?
- when I step on conversation trigger it always says everything twice in a row
- almost nothing to pickpocket(only random "drops" from like 3 NPCs in the entire town) _________________________ Thanks Rolo:)

Just finished it today ! This mod was GREAT ! I haven't played many yet, but it was very fun, I was grinning the whole way through... I wish I hadn't given the first 9 because this is way better !
A few niggles but I won't talk about them unless somebody really insists.
And the music was, well... ;)
Thanks Mirgalen! I haven't visited the Vault in awhile and seeing your post was a nice surprise. I also thought I'd (belatedly) share the news that I'm now working at BioWare Austin on Star Wars: The Old Republic. (In fact, on September 29th I'll have been here a year!)

A Masterpiece.
Even six years after being released this module is still a keeper. I just replayed it twice in a row, once with a rogue combo (easier) and once with a pure rogue (a bit harder).
Visuals and Sounds are a bit outdated compared to the latest modules (nothing compared to Desert Rose for example) otherwise it's still worth it's "9" and HoF status.

One of the first modules I played (after the first part of the series). Fun module, good humour, and I still like the video game pun in the title.

Just like the first part, this is a short, lighthearted adventure that makes for an entertaining evening or two. Has a fun, classic D&D feel and obviously isn't meant to be taken too seriously.

Can anyone recommend me more modules I might enjoy as much as this one? As far as things along the same lines? I peruse the top-rated mods frequently and all, but it's easy to overlook jewels such as this one.

I tell you, it really does not get much better than this. I can see why NCsoft hired the author. I guess we won't be seeing a part three unless he has a lot of spare time, but I'm happy that he's got a job in the industry, doing what he loves and is good at.
Congratulations to you, Mr. Author! I hope your talents don't ever go to waste. Doubt he'll read this, but the sentiment is still the same. :) I loved the first, and this one is even better.

This was a great mod. Loved the theme park idea; really creative. That blasted music is still running through my head!!! ;) Hope a part three comes out!

Same commentary as GTO, really: brilliant stuff. My only complaint is that I couldn't get enough of it.

This is really building on the already solid Part 1. The quests are really inventive, the whole carnival was a stroke of genius, and the bits of humor in the dialogue were refreshing and just so darn funny. Excellent mod! :D

Even it's getting a bit old now, it's still a good module.good atmosphere, npc's are alive and some good humor.
The negative things i could find were as mentioned before, too many doors that can't be unlocked(for a rogue module that is) and i'm missing a journal entry in the end. But i love the mod nevertheless.

Definitely better than the previous module, Grand Theft Otto, but it still feels slight content-wise, and shows its age. The story this go-round is quite a bit more interesting, and it is not hard to get into character and feel like you are doing something important. The humor is not quite my style, and while the amusement park section was rather cute, it was also jarring. There is nothing like midi versions of "It's a Small World" and the Beetlejuice theme music to jolt you out of fantasy roleplaying experience. I realize that with names like "Grand Theft Otto" and "Metal of Honor" one can expect that these modules are parodies, but they are not advertised as such, really.
Lastly, I will note that neither this module nor Grand Theft Otto feature "heavy roleplaying", in spite of what the mod description says.

Good design and custom content, with a touch of humor I really appreciated. No COT3, unfortunately...

Better than the first, but there's still an error in it:
If you want to refuse the 2nd 1,000 gold pieces from the Constable after completing the Small Realm quiz, you have to break the dialoge with the [esc] key.
Though it seems you have to take it, breaking the dialogue prevents it from starting over and Scathe will never appear at the entrance.
I had to us a saved file and do it over again.
The dialogue should be fixed, not to have another reward given out, but rather to have Scathe appear. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

Nice work- Having played both now, I really appreciate the effort that goes into creating them. Very enjoyable, esp. the hints of Lankmar and beloved Thieve's World. Lovely stuff!

The talking sword idea was fun! As with the previous module, I was left with my fingers itching for some additional detail - for instance, the pubkeep spilling out rumours is a great idea, but the way he says them all at once, I have a gut feeling I'll never need to talk to him again. The crazy it's-a-small-world side story was fun too, I had the tune playing in my head (luckily it didn't drive me nuts quite as effectively). I never knew the idea was being used outside of the downtown amusement park in here (Europe, Finland, Helsinki) - their doll ride must be ages old but it's still relatively charming.
I like your humour! Arthur and his wife ("...for marrying the witch..." - oh, she /is/ one?) were a nice side quest that showed up in the final party too, and the music played there was a nice glance back too - although I felt silly that when I promised my new liege that I'd kill Mouse the next time I saw him, I had no choice but to play along when he was hitting on three girls...
I'm left to wonder when the evil wizard'll make a return. :)
(Oh, for some reason the evil wizard reminded me of a mad cow - the first module might have use for a tongue-in-cheek but visible explanation on why the mad cow on the street becomes aggressive when the thugs back at Cutthroat alley attack me. He's in on the plot somehow?)

Hi Wynne,
Your modules are and will ever be my absolute favourites!
Mouse for Presitent!
I really love the humour you put into the story. The finished-and-all-over party was a funny ending especially with the beloved carnival music ;)
For me individual and story driving NPCs are the most important part of a REALLY good module and there you achieved a really high standard.

Saurstalk - The events aren't keyed by the in-game "time," but by your actions. The carnival won't open until you've talked to Natherd at "The Drunken Skunk" tavern.
