What's so bad about a quiet farming life? Till the soil, plant your crops, have a rip-roaring village party after every harvest... why take up the sword in search of fame, glory, and adventure? What drives certain people to seek out excitement and danger and really wild things? Enter Stout Village, where this question becomes unusually important, and extremely dangerous. The quiet life is about to be interrupted by hordes of undead, loud evil sounding music, and one huge secret that gets exposed way ahead of schedule... (Now Version v1.1.)

All I can say is WOW! I can't believe I'd never played this series before!
It's very funny (sometimes down right hilarious), but still manages to tell a great story with engaging characters.
I agree with others that posted that the combat was too freakin' hard at times, but I was having such a good time with this, that I didn't even mind really.
Excellent work, everyone should try this series (especially the Rerolled campaign which was phenomenal!) _________________________ The less you know, the more you believe.

I played through the hole campaign and it was really good ( the rating is for the whole campaign). Note : I'm really greedy on tens...
I had not given a ten because in the first 5 modules (out of ten). I got really frustrated by too hard combat and by the fact that XP was only gained through fight. I was playing a rogue and it was really hard without a good henchmen to help me maneuver for placing my sneak attacks. Indeed, the balance is really much better in the ''rerolled'' campaign and the fact that you have a henchmen with you helped me much. The second part of the campaign is really better than the first one so keep on playing up to those one and you'll be surprised.
Still, the humor and the storyline is good (or should I say GOOD !!!) so it deserve its 9 rightfully !!! Be prepared for a good laugh and don't take it seriously !!!

The Bard competition is not to be missed.

The story shines! I especially like the dark bard part, the surprising plot twist, and the final confrontation. Gameplay-wise there is nothing special but the good story telling style pays off.

More of the same. The whole 'broken-up band' theme was nice. The Advent reveal was rather predictable, though its motives were a fairly fresh spin on the usual villain agenda.
I mostly find myself sharing the views expressed by Brandiles earlier on this page. I just don't really feel like I'm too 'into' the story. A funny tidbit here, then it tries to get serious there, and in the interim I'm plowing through yet more tedious combats. I was very interested in the D20 gang in Part 1. But by this point, with all their confusing 'I don't really want to fight, you'll see why eventually' ramblings, I've lost a lot of interest in them. And here they're just revealed as tools, and you're expected to get all worked up about a new villain that you weren't really given too much reason to care about previously. I care more about this now, because the series has gradually drifted more and more away from the humorous and toward the serious. The serious is not really its strong suit.
Still a better module in terms of both gameplay and writing quality than most of what's in the HoF.

Solid story, but once again required to do individual side quests (Pestilence, War, and Famine.)
Also didn't like getting into my rogue henchwoman's sex life. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

Uncommon trials that were very satisfying. I liked the storyline with the bards. The guitar riffs were awesome!!

The best humor ever!
Not only that, but it's even lots of fun to play!
Very good job adding custom descriptions to every single weapon and item; it reminded me of everyone's favorite humor writer's footnotes.

Why should I spend most of the module without my favorite (and complementary) henchman?

Chapter 4 was solid, for one small problem (spoiler):
I killed all six repeating encounters in efforts to get all the disease, and was only able to get diseased once. Even refiring the encounters off ad nauseum, it didn't work.
I checked your script -- it was A-OK, so it must be some wierd Bioware bug. Setting the disease variables on my player object allowed me to continue on and get the autograph from Pestilance however.

PR4 is a different module from those published thus far. An NPC villain makes this point in the opening dialogs, and hes correct. This episode is a fair bit darker and has much more plot development than in the previous episodes. There is some satire of heavy metal bands, as well as a continuation of the Penultima Idol competition, but its much more subdued than, for example, in episode #1 or #2.
Gameplay, after the first explore the new town period, is quite linear. This linearity is imposed by a series of locked doors, which always seems to hurt the immersion to me. The combat is fairly difficult, though I found that the hardest part was keeping my new henchman alive through it all. I ended up leaving him behind most of the time while I explored a new room and fought off the next series of baddies, and then had him follow and catch up. For some reason, even though he was a magic user, he would usually just plunge into the thick of the fray, and only after a few swipes with his sword would he start casting spells and the likewhich would net him an attack of opportunity. He died a lot. I guess this is primarily an AI problem, and therefore is beyond the authors control (mostly), but it was frustrating.
You learn a quite a bit more about the world youve been adventuring in during this mod. I wont spoil it, but things are definitely not as they seem on the surface. Its a clever idea, but frankly wasnt as shocking as I would have expected I think its mainly because I never got invested in the plotlines and such, and things have always felt a little bit contrived from the get go. Upon knowing this, the remainder of the module is treatedand feelslike an exercise in just getting it over with. There are some funny parts, and the ending is actually quite nicely orchestrated, but I personally was having a hard time motivating myself to continueexcept that I know the end of the series is so near.
So complete it I will And Ive already played a bit of PR5, and Im finding it far more engaging.

The best of the second series. Puts the four horsemen in a different light. _________________________ The road to Ravenloft is paved with good intentions.

Good work. Keep going.

This module ended with a happy fuzzy feeling, although I wish there had been a tad more immediate dramatic consequences to the option I had to go peek at related to a helpable dearie in red. Like straight in the beginning of the next module, in town (where I went to check what would have happened if I had been naughty, evil and wicked). Mort's my definite favourite, although Eve's a close second after playing the final module. Before that she didn't have much of a story visible to us mortals.
