It started out as such a simple quest... there you were, a bold adventurer, seeking a magic staff. There was an inn on the edge of nowhere, with a group of friendly locals willing to help... and then matters got more and more complicated, more horrific. A maze of sorrow and despair unfolded before your very eyes, enveloping all... a maze that sang a song of lamentation for those who have passed away. An elegy. ...a dramatic story-driven module, by Stefan Gagne. Full Version includes a full soundtrack, voice acting, and intro movie. (Updated to v1.1)

No evil critical prone creatures to test my smiter on.
Also not sure why we had to be dead for this adventure. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

Damn, this module made me feel uncomfortable...and I loved it! Although short, it has a good story, nice voice acting and appropriate music. Had great fun, thank you! _________________________ "By believing, one can see"

I loved this mod - the idea of ee (both 1 and 2) is unique, setting it apart from any other module. If you haven't played this yet, prepare for something entirely different to the vast majority of mods.
Very well done - fascinating storyline, great dialogue and NPC characters that seem so alive. The voice acting is a nice touch as well. Plus, the good news after playing this is: the sequel is even better !

A really unique series with a compelling story. Not a "traditional" NWN adventure though.

I found this module exceptional. The voice acting was good, and I liked the charaters, but it was too linear and the fighting was too tiresome. I enjoyed the plot twist and what happened to the PC, but didn't like the tedious backtracking...

@DavidtheGnome
That's weird... Seemed okay just now.
I wanted to give this one a shot, but when I'm unable to get WinRAR to open the zip file... I keep getting an error message. I don't know if the file has been corrupted or what but I was able to open part 2 without a problem. Anyone else having issues?

I'll Never forget this module and the history, and the character. I enjoyed it very much. The main thing here is the dramatic sequel you are into. In my case i really cared about the poor family Elegia. Simple But brillant.

A good module, very original. I liked the music in The Oubliette : it reminds me X 1999 anime series ^^

Excellent. Professional in every way. As has been said before, more roleplaying options for other non-good alignments might have been wise, but you admirably (and amazingly) set that to rights in the sequel. I had a hell of a time. The atmosphere in this is chilling and well done.
A nice module.
However, I have been forced to correct the eternisboss script and replay from the start because the demon infernistag does not exist and then cannot arrive by a jump... Yet I am not sure I took the right one (001, 1 or 2).
Farther more : The number of the event sets from 1 to 2 is followed by the event 2 (It is delayed but it is not secured).
Good work anyways. Thank you

A nice, fun diversion. I actually liked that it was short. "Variety is the spice of life" and whatnot. Very well polished: I didn't run into any bugs, and the voice cast was not only lent a sense of freshness but also performed well. That's something that not all commercial products can boast. One of the voices sounded familiar, but it was probably my imagination.
Although it could probably be improved in some way, it's solid as-is and does not need to be.

It's been a while since I last played it, but this is easily one of my favourite modules. Loved the atmophere and how the story all fit together.

Really excellent mod; great story, great atmosphere... kind of short but still very memorable.

A brilliant horror module.
...I've nothing more to say.

The mood of this module was probably what stuck out most for me...I honestly was really creeped out and uneasy at certain moments. I liked it a lot--at times there was true tragedy and true sadness felt by the player. Like it was a mod for an adult player, not just mindless KILL THE ZOMBIE + FED-EX THE MAGIC AMULET. The backtracking was a little much, but it really wasn't even that bad---just because the encounters in-between were so short.
Anyway, I honestly loved it and am downloading the sequel as I type. :) _________________________ Pansies! Rosemary! Violence! My wedding bouquet!

Quite sort (probably its worse point), but great module. Intense story, and a very good prelude for its (far superior) sequel.

Very engaging story. Got stuck at one part so it`s good that a walkthrough is included.

A very dark and depressing storyline that grabbed me and wouldn't let me quit playing until I had finished. The only drawback was the backtracking but even that was minor. I really liked the storyline and props.
I understand that the game has to be played with a level 5 character. Can anyone tell me you to create a level 5 character since there seems to be no automatic leveling up when starting the module.

A unique, exceptional module that's very different from most of what I've played. Instead of the usual dungeon crawls and epic quests, you get a moody, surreal story with genuine pathos, which is a real rarity when it comes to modules. That isn't to say that that's better - I certainly wouldn't want every module to be like this - but it's an interesting departure from the norm, and it shows that you can do genuine storytelling in NWN. I originally tried playing with an 8th lvl fighter, but the module ended up being a little too easy, so I went to the opposite end of the scale and played a Wizard 3/Cleric 2. As such, that made things very challenging, but with some careful planning, I was able to make it through to the end.
There was more backtracking than I'd like, but that's a minor complaint. Really, the only thing I didn't care for was the voice acting: none of it was very good, and I read a lot faster than the actors spoke anyway, so after a while I mostly stopped listening.

Second best MOD i've played yet for NWN. (First being the sequel ee2.)
Great atmosphere and a lot of fun.

The story is very intriguing. It is short but it nonetheless a very fun game.
