Description
This mod is part four of 'The Infernal Crown,' a four-module campaign set in the Forgotten Realms. It is intended for single-player use with first level characters. You begin the campaign as a member of a secret society of vigilantes, whose motto is 'evil unto evil' (think Dirty Harry or the Punisher), so your character should be evil or neutral in alignment (lawful evil is ideal). Humans, Half-Elves, and Half-Orcs are ideal choices for character races. Dwarves, elves, halflings, and gnomes are not recommended. Single-class wizards, sorcerors, and rogues may have a tough time with the module, but henchmen are available to help you. No Hak-Paks are required. The Shadows of Undrentide and Hordes of the Underdark expansion pack are both required to play this campaign (older SOU-only versions are available on my website).

I've been playing this series through and have really enjoyed it so far, but I'm having some issues at the beginning of IC IV. Hoping somebody can clarify some things for me. ******************MINOR SPOILERS****************** I have just started this mod (w/ my very "non-tank" Monk/Wizard and all the henchmen), and I have worked my through the beholder tunnels and fought my way into the Hall of Elders. Now here's my issue: using invisiblity potions to run around the city of Evereska (after removing all of the henchmen from my party), I found the portal and snuck my way into the basement of the fortress. So, I know where to proceed TO, but I'm not certain HOW to proceed. All of the elves are automatically hostile - am I just supposed to take my party and hack my way through the entire city, into the temple of Corellan, through the fortress, down into the basement, past the stone golems and so on and so forth? Is there no way around just hacking your way through a literal army of elves? I can't believe that there is not a better way - I got the impression from the beginning of the mod when Aseph told us to "infiltrate" the city that just H&Sing wasn't going to cut it. Is this really what he meant- just kill everything in sight? Would appreciate anybody's advice with this. Thanks.

Just for anybody out there and spoiler for cryptic area in elves city. Find poem (Book) and whatever comes first press those buttons eg knees are mentioned first. However I have to stop playing this again for bug reasons. 1) Faleran and summoned creatures will attack party members. 2) Faleran and Graveron are invulnerable to everything. Thought at first it was resisting spells but nope to everything. 3) beholders do not use rays they just bite? 4) In the elven city itself and in courtyard areas I become cursed? As soon as I am able to rest curse disappears. This may be a bug? 5) Also I wish there was n option in grav and vivs dialogoe to enable me to prevent them from summoning creatures OR could you just change what spells they have available. As I could only just make it to 10th lvl at end of III. Having xp divided by 7 was getting a bit frustrating. I would end up trying to kill the summoned creatures and compete with Grav trying to heal them I do think it can be a very good "quad"ology but please zap the bugs

Just wanted to pop a note in on a possible glitch/game play issue. **************************SPOILER*********************************************** ****** In the Serpent hills when crossing the bridge its possible to cross over to the 2 dragons dueling AFTER you destroy the old tree. Thus you can cross over to that area but not get back. Annoying if you happen to glitch yourself due to saves. ******************************************************************************** ******** Having a blast, though its tough with the rest scripts written sort of blanket everywhere. IV was much better in this implementation than I-III were. Lots of good solid fun in the Module.

Very nice. _________________________ Forgotten Realms Weave

Nice series - it provided me with hours and hours of fun. There aren't too many mods out there that are appropriate for evil characters. Thanks for building something for them! Also, it was very nice to play through a long series with several henchies. It would have been nice to have more interaction with them, of course. There were problems with them, too: Fandral often attacked Viv and my summoned succumbus, Viv said something appropriate for the beginning of part III very close to the end of the whole thing - so I may have missed something..? I didn't have any problems (that I was nicely warned about) with the henchies turning hostile in part two, but the solution that was being suggested, in order to be sure that no such problems occur, didn't work. Many of the dungeons were very nice! Outside areas I didn't enjoy that much. I enjoyed very much the fact that some of the fights were pretty difficult. They weren't too difficult, though: the resources were always available to beat any fight. I'll vote for other parts, too. My favorite was the last one; the third I found weakest. Anyway, thanks again for building; in case you'll make some new mods, I'll certainly check them out! _________________________ Forgotten Realms Weave

SPOILER I found Viviara in Hell but she doesn't join me. Why?

Hiya. This is the best mod I've played yet! I've been hooked on it for several weeks. I gave it a 9 only because of the hostile henchman bug (and I have the latest version). I only have one problem so far that I haven't found answered yet though and would REALLY like some help! After slaughtering the Yuan-Ti in the Serpent Hills, I return to town and try to complete the quest with the one-armed man. However, when I enter the tavern, three of the NPCs were immediately hostile including the Cripple. Then every other merchant in town became hostile. What is the problem here? I've got a bunch of treasure I need to unload and potions to buy...help please!

Re: the Throne Room. (Spoilers ahead) Apparently, the module does not recognize killing the Baatorians unless you do it yourself. My henchmen killed them for me, and Asmo didn't appear. When I had them "Stand Ground" and killed the two lightbulbs on my own, it worked out just fine.

God damn that was a good series. I played a monk assassin; in the beginning I had a really hard time, (I can't tell you what a struggle it was to overcome that zombie master) but by the end my enemies were fleeing in terror. I have to say that I really liked the moral conflict...the way I roleplayed it, my character was having growing doubts about his chosen path, and in the end sided with the forces of good. But I had to go bck and try the dark side, and damn that felt nice... This is the most addictive series I've played. THank you, Bob, for the hours of good evil fun you provided :)
