Arcanium v4.4 Arcanium is a land of high adventure. It is an epic module with many lands to explore and numerous quests to complete. Start with a low level party/character and work your way through crypts, labyrinths, strange forests, evil sects, sunken cities and much more! Module preferably run as persistent but can be played as singelplayer as well. Have fun.
The zip file now have three modules; Arcanium v2.3 is the old NWN 1.29 Arcanium v2.6 is a SOU 1.32 and uses Tim.hak Arcanium HOTUSOU v4.1 is a SOU+HOTU module v1.62.
Thank you ´ol FP - I just logged in today and found out - better late then never... Great Fun!

-.25 - couldn't find key to mausoleum... had to jump there artificially.
-.25 Ending too abrupt, I was hoping for some bad guy.
-.25: Even on hard setting, I would expect monsters to carry power gear as well, not just the stores.
Other than that, great for anyone who wants a hack 'n slash at any level. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.
Hagaar, thank you for your feedback. The non-working transistions to "H4 - the Throne of Bloodstone" is a link to another module. It only works if you have that module downloaded. Some transisitons are one-way as you say and at least give a pop-up seems to be a good idéa.
The frequency by which I visit has declined the last few years, but I try to take a look from time to time to see if I get any questions or other feedback.
Good luck in the future,
The gramatical errors you find is very likely from the fact that I'm not a native English speaker and that very few give specifik details to which texts are actually erroneous. _________________________ Intelligence - The ability to plan ahead.

Tim.
I just finished the game and find it very interesting and a bit challenging. I did note that there were a lot of grammatical errors as well as spelling. In various places you placed transition triggers that didn't function as well as in a certain area, a transition that didn't function... could only assume that it was a one-way entry. Should have had a bubble pop up stating as much. I also found that there is an Area Transition Trigger in the Wilderness outside of port Sol that leads to something called "H4 Bloodstone..." After numerous attempts to enter, I gave up. *If* you are not going to have that part in the game why(!!) have it there in the first place??
Many of the "hidden" trap doors took much too long to show up after crossing the spot that they were in.
Other than that, it could stand a bit more in the area of debugging. But all-in-all, I'll keep it if only to get my characters up to a good level for other games. I note that the last time this game was addressed was sometime in 2005 and I think that either the author has given it up and moved on to other things or simply...??? _________________________ We are all born ignorant, but one must work to remain ignorant.

I've just begun this game and other than a few minor spelling and grammar issues, I'm finding that this is a VERY interesting game. Any chance of seeing an update to reflect current 1.69 patch and CEP? More for the patch then anything. _________________________ We are all born ignorant, but one must work to remain ignorant.

Awesome mod. I'm a 27th level adventurer - it suits me fine. Well-balanced and interesting. Its a shame it's still not inducted into Hall of Fame. Thank you, Tim.

Tim Just letting you know fantastic group of modules Right now I'm playing one of the arcanium modules and not bad at all minor bugs but easily fixed.
A fellow Player noted that when she completed all three original quests in two of the modules that when she returned to Sol she was attacted by John and several of the townsfolk..
We took the module apart and realized that there were some faction presets that were not correct. However I didn't have the same problem she did.
We were wondering if perhaps if you complete all three quests that if there is something in the script that is messed up that sets the factions because if you do two of them it doesn't seem to happen
Otherwise Awesome and fun and love the Epic Peckers.. ROFLMAO

What polymorphing is that? The one in the labyrinth is from strange magic, as the elven quester tells you. It only happens in this one place. It affects anyone who enters and is one of six different effects that make the passage a more "troublesome" experience.
I hope you keep on adventuring in spite of these polymorphing traps. The are as I said, quite rare.

Ok, the module is good so far, but what is with the polymorphing? It's ridiculous.
Posted by Tim ( 212.181.xxx.xxx ) at 2005-05-08 08:37:16
Ok, you have CEP. That could be the problem. I will look into it. Thank you for your extensive feedback.

I thinkI have narrowed it down to Port Sol City itself. When ever I try to open the Cith of Port sol in toolset I get the same error.
Posted by QRob001 ( 69.29.xxx.xxx ) at 2005-05-07 10:02:21
I ran antivirus, no virus. I checked the hard drive for errors, no errors. I defgrag and reboot and it still does the same thing.
Posted by QRob001 ( 69.29.xxx.xxx ) at 2005-05-06 16:20:29
I have 1.65.8066 English. I have the platinum version with both SoU and HoTU. I have the CEP v1.50 as well.
I will try a virus scan, disc clean up and defrag as well. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for your help. Peace.
That error message is not a compilation error. It is the operating system trying to access a memory address outside the range allocated for the toolset. It happens when the software used tries to do somthing it shouldn´t. The result is that the software (NWN Toolset) crashes.
I can´t really give you more information. What version of NWN do you have, what expansions and which module? Have you applied all patches? Try to check your hard drive for errors and run a defrag. Also run a virus check. Restart computer and try again.
I have had problems with crashes running the game (albeit not when compiling) when having a virus. That is why I think that could be a solution. The error checking is to make sure that the swap file is ok.
Unless you try to compile some old module or a new module on an old system it should work. _________________________ Intelligence - The ability to plan ahead.

The Error message reads as follows.
Access violation at address 0057626F in module 'nwtoolset.exe'. Read of address 00000028
I thought it might be my toolset but I have tried other modules and they compile fine. So I dont know whats wrong.
Peace.
I think you can add almost anything, except custom content in a hak, without a recompile. If you need to recompile then ignore the errors or check the scripts that won´t compile. The hotu and sou version is error free. I don't know if the older versions show any errors with the latest patches added. If you need more help then send me a more detailed error description. _________________________ Intelligence - The ability to plan ahead.

When I try to compile this mod to add something of my own a error message comes up. Do you know why this is and how to correct it?
Updates are done, new version 4.4 is uploaded. This time with better support for high level characters. I played with a level 28 paladin yesterday and got my butt kicked at least twice - and that was in a quest intended for level 5-8 initially.
On a side note:
Some aspects of NWN is really disturbing. The unbalancing effect of some high level magical items makes it very hard to build something that is balanced throughout. If a fighter has AC70 and immunity to death and mindaffecting, wields a +8 Longsword and have devastating critical then nothing on this earth will stop him (except a locked plot door).
Regardless, I have let you to be able to change the difficulty during runtime and I have made a variety of creatures so that you can have more varied challenges and a better experience. Please feel free to give feedback.

I´m in the proccess of updating Arcanium to better support high level characters. Some support was given for characters up to level 25 or so but now I have done some work to allow for characters of up to level 35 or higher by adding a bunch of new opponents. As soon as I have playtested it I will upload Arcanium.
New monsters include; Epic Dragons, Undead Avatars, Orc Heroes, Ogre Warriors, Epic Sect Members, Ancient Rust Monsters, Epic Mimics, Epic Basilisks, Greater Lizardmen and many more.
Just to let you know,Tim _________________________ Intelligence - The ability to plan ahead.
Wisdom - To actually do what you planned.
This module supports most levels. Few monsters are thougher than CR30, so perhaps PCs lower than level 30 is recommended, though little playtesting have been done at really high levels.
Custom magical items do scale from level 1-40 and some CR30 mosters can be though in groups, so I think characters of all levels, including the really powerful, can have a challenge.
Presently, some adventures in the module do not scale from level 1-40. Some are aimed at a certain level. The most limited one is the Nottons quest that range from level 4-10. Others like the Pentacate Quest works from level 12 to 30 - not made for low level characters.
Generally, one could say that if you start with a character and work your way through the adventures as they come, you will most probably be level 1-5 in Port Sol (start town), level 6-12 in Arcanium and 13+ in Dread and Hammerfelt. Having done most all adventures as level 16-18. But as you can visit dungeons more than one time and/or start with a higher level character this is only a "guide".
I hope this helped some,

The module contain say eight different adventures. Each allow for a level or two of advancement, thus you can become level 15-18 or so if you start as first level.
The different adventures scale with your level and you can start at a higher level if you want. This would allow for the higher level as seen in the module description.
The module is also persistant and each adventure can be played more than once. This allow you to reach any level.Tim _________________________ Intelligence - The ability to plan ahead.
