Description
Version 1.07 10/19/2006
This is an update to fix the chest names on the Esmeralda. Also includes 1.68 cloaks. The new cloaks plus all the dyes to make your cloak match your armor are here.
This is the second installment of the "Island Adventures" series. While it is preferable to have played the first one, it is not absolutely necessary. This mod is heavy on dialogue and role-playing and moderate on hack-and-slash. It works best for single-player or a very small multiplayer party. There are four henchmen to pick from, and you may have up to three of them at a time in your party. Both male and female romances are available. All conversational skills are useful in this mod, as well as skills such as perform and animal empathy. Please download and install the hak file and music file.
Really engaging mod! Love it so far, I can't believe I didn't try this before when I saw it!
*Spoiler*
I'm stuck at the Crystal Throne Room part. I'm suppose to put something into the anvil but I'm not sure what exactly I'm suppose to put. Nothing I have and tried to use doesn't seem to work :/ Any help?
Holy mackerel! I just came on to re-download my mods and haks since I lost them awhile ago in a hard drive crash, and I can't believe there are still new comments! I haven't been on here in years. For those who are still interested, there probably won't be a part 3 since there are so few people who would play it at this point. Also, my husband/co-collaborator and I just don't have the kind of free time we used to. So, I apologize for never finishing the series, but life got in the way. :) Anyway, thanks for downloading and commenting.

Quite a good series, useful to the three part because quite worthy of attention the whole seria.Mam hope that the author finds little time to do later.

I know this would really sound repetively tiring to others (And the mod creators as well. For that I apologize.), but... IS there going to be a chpater 3, I mean, more specificly, WILL there be one HERE, in the vault?
I sincerely hope there would be one here because I really like the series (Which is rare, since well-made modules with an intriuging story and plot are HARD to find nowadays.), hopefully you'll do one for NWN2 as well as for NWN...(Some of us don't have NWN2, yes, I know, sad.)
Anyway, I liked the characters and how you potrayed them, the story itself was good, and well...The usual compliments on a job well done. Hope I didn't annoy you all with the constant questioning about the next chapter...

Excellent Mod, fun to :)
I do hope you do get IA3 done as you will be one of the few to finish a Series. And mods like this keep us
sane and happy and coming back for more :p
Take Care and thanks again. _________________________ Dalethfc
Truly excellent (as was the first adventure). It's a shame to hear that you're unlikely to finish part 3.
I discovered an amusing bug - it's possible to fish in the Orange Pony Spa. I caught a full inventory-full of catfish, drumfish, and king mackerel there, necessitating a quick trip to see Joe Porter before I could go on the trip to the mines. I did a lot of fishing, in fact, especially after I found out that you don't have to wait for shoals of fish to be sighted to be able to catch them; I finished the module as a 7Ranger/7Rogue, which I think is a lot higher than you expected, and made enough gold to buy Greenleaf for my Ranger/Rogue and some other nice equipment, mainly due to a lot of fishing trips. Perhaps Joe should take back the net after two or three trips to stop greedy people like me exploiting the loophole. _________________________ "You do well to flee, townspeople. The wife picked up "Time Bandits" :) for the kids to watch the other day.
Patsy and her man with the probllem...
It seemed some how familar when I saw it at the faire I just couldn't place it at the time. Now I can...
Nice inclusion.

Well, I understand the time thing. It's hard just finding time to play :)
I hope you find the time though :)

Hi incognitus - Thanks so much for the comments. It's great to hear that you enjoyed it! We keep tossing around the idea of IA3 in either NWN1 or 2, but it's so hard to find the time.

All I can say here is WOW. I'm going to have to give this one a 10 (not something I usually do). I gave IA1 a 9.75 cause I though it was good, this one is even better.
Thanks for taking the time to find outstanding custom music -- the music of the OC can get on your nevers after a while. And I think the custom music really added to the module, like good music adds to the ambiance of a movie.
Great improvement with the NPC romance and interactions, though it would have been nice if PC and the romantic interest would use pet or endearing names aftet the romance its hits peak. Milady just seems to formal for to people in love. Of the two, I thought Vespy was the easier romance. Oo took a little work (didn't get it to fire the first two time through, so I opened the mod in the toolset and found my mistake.
This mod took a slight darker path, not that the mod itself was dark but with Jeni's suicide, the gnomes depression, the Druid's past, Fayne's capture, lydia and her beau's mutal usage, and the exicution of Fayne's brother in law to be (did I miss anyone?) you sure walked away a little on the down side.
I sure hope (no, I encourage) both of you choose to finish this series. You are both talented as this module shows and besides, it would be nice to know how all this ends. There's still lots of NWN1 players out there -- especially those of us who play it on Linux :) But it doesn't really matter I have both games
A comment on a bugs that exist, if your interested. The ring of nullification grants 2000xp every time it is used in the majic shop.

Oops - I misinterpreted your comment, and it wasn't 10 players but 10 in your party. Nonetheless, I don't hear back from multiplayers much, so it's always good to know the multiplayer functions are working.
Hi fire & ice - It's great to hear about people still enjoying the mod, and I've never heard of 10 people playing at once, so it's great to hear that it worked well for the most part. I like to play with a few other people myself, so I try to accommodate multiplayer as much as possible.
Thanks for the module. Just finished playing through it with 2 friends (beginning to end on one Sunday). I was very impressed with the polish and the use of custom content - all the areas were beautiful and frequently made me go 'how did they do that?'. Only noticed one tiny typo - which is pretty exceptional. All the doors worked, people wandered around with lanterns or umbrellas as appropriate - wow.
I can't really vote without experiencing SP since I lost a lot of the interaction with henchmen and, since my party likes to split up and then spend ages yelling at each other over teamspeak, didn't experience all of the side quests personally.
Something that frustrated my friends was that they never had enough gold to buy all the nice stuff in the shops, which cost 10s of thousands of gps. Combat was rather straightforward for us, but we were a party of over 10 (3 PCs, 3 henchmen, 3-4 summons, 1 animal companion).
I was impressed how bug-free the whole thing was, particularly in an MP setting. We ran into some small problems at the end - the final transition didn't take all of our characters but they could use the tarot cards to meet up. There were also some faction issues at the end but that was probably entirely due to my unrestrained use of fireballs :) I also ran into one problem with Lady O - at one point she died, without being transported back anywhere. She couldn't be raised at the temple but I found a scroll of Raise Dead and used that (Animate Dead was tempting but..). That seemed to work (although it reset her conversation). Anyway, eventually we decided to ditch the henchmen since things were a bit easy. Unfortunately, I couldn't get rid of Lady O. Upon entering every new area she turned up, regardless of what I said/did. Killing her again might have done the job but that felt a bit mean! Anyway, just a minor, amusing thing!
Hi Gruizzer - Thanks! Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on that discussion. Interesting stuff. It sounds like you might do a future podcast on that subject.
You should see the discussions your interview is getting over on the podcast site!! Thanks for being on the show!! It was a great interview.

Lord Alex and Lady Oonagh
Your very welcome and thank you for the info on the "Oonagh" background. I did in fact google it and found a lot of interesting reading. I am Irish so it made it even more so. :)
So any more projects? Maybe you two would be willing to do a Neverwinter Nights podcast interview? :)
Regards

Just listened to the podcast, Liso. Very nice and the good Lady's name is pronounced like Uma but with an "n".. ;) We're glad to hear people are still downloading and enjoying "Island Adventures," as we invested a lot of ourselves in those two mods.
Btw, the name "Oonagh" comes from Irish mythology. The character, Oonagh, was the human wife of the Irish giant, Finn MacCool. Google up "oonagh" for a pretty interesting story about her and her gargantuan lover. ;))
Hi Liso - I'm glad you enjoyed it, and didn't run into any bugs. Thanks for the heads up about the podcast!

Absolutely fantastic! The story was intriguing and captivating through out the entire module. I never had any glitches or bugs. I am so ready for the next one!!
Thank you for all the hard work and the chance to enjoy your module.

I'd like to say I am enjoying this module a lot! The story had me captivated from the beginning! I will be voting once I'm finished.
I'd also like to mention that this mod was an improve mod spotlight on Neverwinter Nights Podcast. Which will be released on 7/13/07 I hope I did not butcher the names of the creators to much :)
Regards

I understand this all, and I figure this is no problem that is easily resolved. Don't feel pressurized about it. _________________________ One feels inclined to say that the idea that man should be "happy" is not included in the plan of "creation". - Sigmund Freud
That's correct. I haven't been able to figure out what is causing the problem. I would still like to look at it again at some point, but this month is crazy-busy. As for the ending, like the first one, this particular island's story is resolved, but the bigger story is not. Also, there is a bit of a cliffhanger with one of the NPCs. We have talked about doing IA3 in NWN2 at some point, but I can't guarantee that will happen. I feel bad about leaving unfinished business, but real life has a tendency to get in the way. :) Hopefully we'll get it wrapped up eventually.

Lady Oonagh emailed me that she had already spent many hours trying to find which script might be the problem without success, and that she didn't expect to make any substantial changes to this module in the future.
What's the current status on the game save lock-up bug? I've been stopped dead last time I played. My current pc has 1,5 GB RAM, though I am not entirely sure I've been using this machine on my last go.
Also, how complete an ending does this chapter have? If this was intended as a trilogy with the last part missing, will I be stopped in the middle of the story? And how finished are the romance parts? _________________________ One feels inclined to say that the idea that man should be "happy" is not included in the plan of "creation". - Sigmund Freud

Very good module, with a solid FR background and developed NPCs. I wish a script bug didn't force me to fast-track the main plot because the various sidequests available in both towns increase the interest of this module.

great plot and dialogue, but I seemed to spend as much time trying to work round bugs as playing the game. would otherwise have scored a 10 _________________________ If the human brain was so simple we could understand it, we'd be so simple we couldn't
