After fighting a desperate battle against foreign invaders, you return from war as a hero, but find much has changed in your absence. Caught in the snares of a power-hungry wizard, you are whisked away to another plane of existence, and enter a world with no memory, where the souls of the damned wander without rest. Though treachery lurks in every shadow, faithful allies are willing to lend their services any way they can. Will you ever be able to return to the world you once knew and confront the sinister wizard whose true intentions are yet unknown?
New Characters recommended. All characters are automatically leveled to lvl 15.
- Original music
- Four henchmen total. Two at a time with the abitily to switch any time.
- Mobile store with special weapons to sell, including secret items.
- Unique and amazing boss battles. Much more than just hack 'n slash.
- Gameplay so big, we had to split it into two modules!
- Fun and unusual sidequests. Seek the favor of a reclusive dragon, or corner the real estate market in the city of the dead.
- New type of sidequest: Raids. Go on missions against the enemy and turn the tide of war in your favor. Be warned! Failure is possible and will make the coming battles more difficult!

No bugs. was considering an 8.5, but final dungeon and holy handgranades pushed it to 10.Fine work. Thank You.

Well, it was a nice attempt. I liked a lot of things about the module. The humor, the references, the music, the henchmen, the story... all of them I liked quite a bit. In fact, there was only one thing about the entire module that made me lower the score four whole points... the bugs.
Don't get me wrong, I know there's bugs in every module, but this is way too far. When I have to use the console no less than seven times to spawn items, NPCs, fire off scripts, and so forth just to continue, something is wrong. There are quest and game breaking bugs here. Not small stuff, either. Stuff that should have been caught during playtesting.
If only the bugs were fixed, this would have been one potentially great module.
The new(er) version seems a little more polished, and I even found Reed in the Crypts as well as the Golden Dragon this time around.
I am however having a problem that I didn't have before: "The Escort Raid" side-quest. After clearing the area of nasties, as soon as I get over the bridge near the exit - the stubborn Sage stops and turns around and won't budge! He even says something like "I'm staying right here!"
Does anyone know a workaround or other fix? Thanks in advance!
After going on all the raids (even the stealth one, which I failed) I am finally at the point where I'm ready to go visit TheBigBad - and the transition point doesn't work!
Until (if?) there's an update/patch of some kind, there's just no way to finish this game! Very disappointing, as I was really enjoying it too. I'm holding off on a vote, just in case I can resurrect my last SaveGame some day...
Thanks to hmdai's very useful post, I was able to summon Reed and have him join the party! Since there are only 2 seats on this ride, I had to ask Giles to get off - hope I made the right decision...
Well, looks like I'm talking to myself here. (No it doesn't!) Yes it does! Gaah :)
Just a quick note that after playing 2 other mods since my last post here, I decided to try Torn Asunder one more time - and for unexplainable reason, I was able to maneuver through the cut-scene and onward into part 2! Needless to say that made me very happy - until I ran into the next bug!
Now I cannot find the dragon or Reed, like so many have posted before me. I have Giles and Chantilly with me, so I will try to continue and see what happens...
Has anyone gotten past the cut-scene-attempting-to-load after successfully defending the villagers in Part 2??
I can speak to Gregory but the General is also "friendly" if that's a factor, and walking to or near the front gate is what seems to trigger the cut-scene-that-never-happens.
Some of you have already finished the mod and have voted, so how did you proceed? (I'd love to continue playing but cannot get past this frustrating bug!)
I just finished Part 1 and enjoyed playing. As many before me have posted, I too experienced the game-stopping freeze that happens when you Save after defeating the Baron. Thanks to all those posters, I was able to restart with a previous Save and continue on into Part 2.
Now I have come across another game-stopping bug - After defending the villagers and trying to speak with Gregory, it seems like a cut-scene is trying to start and then I lose all control. I cannot use the mouse or the keyboard (in game) and must resort to "CTRL-ALT-DELETE" to bring up Task Manager. This is the only way I can exit the game, by killing the NWN Process!
Is there another Update planned, or a fix I can DL? The Journal entry says I'm supposed to rejoin Gregory and kill this General, but the game will just not allow me.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can give me some advice!

This could've been a hell of a mod. Story was nice, characters were likeable, cool items and mostly decent dialogue.
Unfortunately it just isn't. Instead it became very, very frustrating because of the many bugs. I've encountered just about all the bugs mentioned in previous comments, topped by one more.
*SPOILER*
Somehow I couldn't exit the Resistance camp, even after talking to all of the NPC's. The waypoint was broken, and it wouldn't let me transfer. I tried using debug mode, but ended up in the middle of the enemy camp, with the Resistance far behind me. That, combined with the previous mentioned bugs took all the fun away for me. The most frustrating one was Giles returning to his part 1 state when I re-summoned him after the sneak raid. Bye, bye cool armour, bye bye epic items I gave him.
*END SPOILER*
A real shame, because I was really looking forward to playing this one out till the end. Before the bugs started I really was having great fun with the module. Close, but no cigar... _________________________ "By believing, one can see"

Awesome mod. The Severance section was hilarious! Whole module was well done, with neat items.
Having finished part 1, I must say that overall this is an excellent module. The initial cutscene, NPC dialog, variety of (powerful) items, henchmen, and the giving of XP only for quest completion make it quite enjoyable. However, the crash/corrupted save bug after the Baron fight was somewhat annoying until I realized that the first module ends right there. Also, there's several bugs in the way moondust is handled: if you simply drop the moondust out of your inventory after opening up the portable store, you can still buy a special item but not lose the moondust; also, if you buy a special item, all moondust currently in your inventory appears to be removed, not just what was required to purchase the item.

I liked it. the gender recognition is cool. I really like that in a mod. _________________________ Dying's easy Living's hard

I found this module to be rather frustrating and somewhat buggy. I gave up at least halfway through. Good ideas, and characters, though. I really liked the intro cutscene. It was done beautifully. The gender recognization script (for the boy/girlfriend) made me smile.
Having trouble,, as everytime something is going on the damn scripts stop you doing anything and it's like it's trying to run a cutscreen, everyone is fighting so you cant really talk to anyone,,, grrrr _________________________ Dalethfc
Hey ladynaava, appreciate your feedback. :) The final dialogue has been beaten down heavily so Corwyn/Cielle actually express interest in your fate, for good or ill. I suppose the 'Neutral' ending was the happily ever after (sort of) if you were nice to your love interest throughout the game. To be honest, I didn't really care for the direction of the ending, but being a lowbie programmer at the time prevented me from contributing something better.
There's a fair chance I'll add an ending, where Saris gives up his soul to YOU instead, and repents for all the evil crap he's pulled. Of course, you'll have to be nice to everyone and have high ratings with the town and your love interest first. =)
We'll see if I get a good response from the playtesters of the update, and proceed from there. =) _________________________ MadHenchbot

Glad to hear you made some updates. Did you fix the ending?
SPOILERS
I thought it could use a happy one... I felt a bit let down to go through all that to end up with a series of gotcha endings. I'd much rather have one where you and your love interest survive to have some sort of romance.
I also thought Corwyn should not let you sacrifice yourself to join with dad... IT seemed a bit wierd especially if you are the opposite gender I'd much rather something happen where Corwyn killed his dad to prevent you from dying. For someone who hates his dad he seems to stand around and do nothing towards the end.
Hey all, a beta version of the update has been added to the vault as a stand-alone mod in dire need of playtesting. If and when it reaches a point where the mod reaches 'polish', I will re-update it here and remove the other one. If you're a fan of our work, please help me playtest it one last time. :) _________________________ MadHenchbot

Wow, I can't believe people are still downloading this module! This is MadHenchbot (formally the artist known as MAD_WOOKIE) and I'm just commenting to thank you all for your support of our project, buggy as it was. There have been several MAJOR overhauls to the project since its initial release, but due to the scope of the mod and the lack of playtesters, I've been hesitant to update it to the Vault. Judging by the number of comments here, I'm tempted to upload it as it exists now.
Some of the major updates:
- OPENING MOVIE! YAY!
- improved henchie dialogue/relationships
- epic bug fixing
- inclusion of 'lost' music tracks
- new areas of interest (Smuggler's Dock, Resistance Camp by firelight)
- COMPLETE walkthrough
Also, I've recently submitted a pet project of mine entitled "Celestial Chronicles." It's a very short mod (~1 hour), but has a mess of unique scripting and gameplay, and I think it highlights a lot of the new content in CEP. Please take a look at it and let me know what you think!
Thank you again, and happy gaming to you all. _________________________ MadHenchbot

Overall, I enjoyed this mod. I encountered a lot of bugs and had to restart the game, but I was able to finish it. I wish there was more to the romance. I liked the original things in the game, like the moon dust trading.

Encountered a few bug at the later part of the mod.
Wish there was another ending cause I sincerely doubt my character would trust the guy who killed her.
But all in all it was pretty good.

Nice module with a different approach than the usual way. The romance is a bit strange at the end, but this may be based on some bug problems I was encountering during the last third of the mod.
When I defeat the Baron, his body still looks like I should have an action to attack it (it still lights up red and all) and I can't take anything off the body, and I can't get through the door behind the Baron's throne. Could you give me some help on what to do next?
Erm.. my game keeps crashing when I try to select to weapons tab in the portable gnome's inventory. Is that where the Alchemist's Fire DX is located? Because I haven't been able to find it :(

Despite being fairly buggy, a very good mod.
Combat tended towards being too easy unfortunately, especially with the equipment and henchies available.
Not awarding XP for combat, only awarding XP for completing quests, was a very nice touch.
NPCS were very well done. Everyone NPC commoner being unique and having unique dialog was a very nice, and very rare touch. Henchie interaction was for the most part, typical NWN henchie interaction, ie, fairly little.
Quests were interesting and tended to be unusual. There was often more than one way to resolve the main plot. The quest requiring rogue skills were nice. The rescue the villagers quests at the start of part 2 was very well done, being able to see the rescued villagers later on was nice. The rat king quest was funny and fun.
Lots of unique items, the moondust currency system was nice.
Lots of custom scripts and custom behaviour. Some nice custom music.
The main romance was extremely weak; unfortunately, the romance is a significant part of the plot. The ending seemed really rushed and really halfhearted.
Some fairly serious bugs: saving at the end of part 1 after killing the Baron will result in a crash and corruption of the save file. Faction bugs involving the henchies in the cleric quest. Faction bugs involving henchies in the final battle.
With some debugging, and toughening of the combat, this would be a great mod. _________________________ My shoes are too tight and I have forgotten how to dance.
