Description
6/15/03: Jungle Hak. New music. Special script -- see the Some Assembly Required.txt. For v 1.29 and higher. Recommend new chars, or lvl 5 chars to start. This campaign is based on a novel I was writing 20 years ago and never finished. It is set 8 years after the destruction of the source stone (OC) in a backwater rural town of Santa Cecilia. It features a rich story line, suspense, and a lot of attention to details in areas. Plenty of role play opportunities, and enough action to keep hack and slashers interested. Classic Action/Adventure. I think you'll enjoy it. Some areas light traps, others heavy. Some cursing by NPCs; PG-13 rating. Readme file enclosed. You should d/l 'Citadel of Blood Chapter 2' and 'Citadel of Blood Chapter 3' for the complete series.

Average at most. Can be avoided.
The author said: "It features a rich story line, suspense, and a lot of attention to details in areas. Plenty of role play opportunities, and enough action to keep hack and slashers interested"
The story is taking place in an uncharted island a big like the isle of Dread but it is not very rich. You need to fetch a couple of items and you are done. Little interaction or RP opportunities. I wish you could tell a girl that her boss is dead and that she is free or I believe that it would have been interesting to set the creatures from the past neutral and have a couple of ways to handle that quest. Suspense? Did not feel that. Attention to details? May be but I did not notice it.
It's mostly a hack n slash fest. The best part you only see near the end with the hak (a modified version larger than the original) and some heroic fantasy themed music. Bug or feature, we found the body of the mage but it is not related to any quest. Same for the clearing the temple at the end. Was that a way to please the dragon or something?

i'm voting the 3 modules as a series here ...
what a great mod :-) We played it in mutliplayer mode with 2 characters (barb and bard/rogue). Only disadvantage really is the quests being straightforward most of the time. So some "red herrings" would be cool in the sidequests. The story kept us going though, and overall it was fun to play through.

A satisfying piece of hack & slashery. Very challenging at the beginning for my solo 5th level PC without henchmen, but that makes sense given the intro to the story. All in all very well balanced and fun.

Three of us played this series multi-player and we enjoyed it a lot. Good hack and slash adventure.

I really enjoyed this adventure. I like the timeline you establish with the various quests.

Nice module. With lots of fights and quests. Challenging battles but I got to admit that in some maps the constant respawning of the enemies was a bit tiresome. I liked the ancient forest, the green light was suitable to the whole environment but I've found the music in that place a little annoying. Also, in the ancient forest, when I was moving from area to area, the loading images weren't befitting to the place. I remember seeing an inn, a desert and a crypt. I only noticed that in the ancient forest and I'm not sure if that happened to the entire module.
As for bugs, I didn't run into any. Great to have various henchmen to choose from but a minimal at least interaction with them it would have been nice.
Despite my comments I've enjoyed the module but I have to say, it felt hack and slash heavy :)
So far this has been a good module. 2 questions. I took the job for the archeologist. Can't find the book.
Second. Is there a walk thru availble?

OK it is abit outdated but this mod was one of the first epic's. As for being easy. Yes most of it was and I was playing in very difficult mode with rogue henchelf. A real challenge would be solo and in very difficult mode. using a ftr/rg/wpnmaster (greataxe) who only receives power attack and cleave in the mid teens. Not much of a difference between hardcore and very difficult?

Turcople
Just went through this. there is an amulet of the dragon to give to unpronouncable. all i can remember is the copied key was behind the cabin in a crate. that is after you've spoken to klauth, who gives you a translator amulet.
for those who are stuck in finding first piece of staff, there are 2 doors going down to next level go through both

Can someone tell me if this is working as intended or if it is a bug?
***Spoilers***
I brought the sauron eggs to Klauth, he gave me the ring and rewards, we made omlettes and I went home. My quest journal still says that I need to return the eggs to Klauth, but I no longer have them because he took them and I can no longer go back in time to look for anything I may have missed.
The unprounouncable dragon now wants an amulet that he says is in the temple outside. I cant find any amulet and there is no journal entry regarding the present day dragon. Am I missing something or is this bugged too badly to complete the module?

Very good module. Was enjoyable to play despite being an older module. Story line not strong, but very humorous in some spots. The encounters are well done.

A good adventure module. A decent story and nice fights. Indeed a bit dated now, but still good. Played this in multiplayer with a party of four. It says Occasional DM required, but we didn't need one. Same problem as in the OC, namely that having a stone of recall (or Travellin stone in this one), the game is just too easy. We only used the stone once or twice, though. Powergaming, hack and slash, kinda story orientated adventure, and a very good one. Definitely better than the OC, but then that doesn't require that much.. =)

Story was poor, too much Hack'N'Slash, kinda boring.

This must have been great addition to the mods available at some point! I cannot resist questioning the coherence of the time travel story here...
**** SPOILERS ****
The character goes back in time, and does something because of which something because of which the whole story is taking place doesn't happen. So, presumably the character doesn't then go back in time. But, well, she also does... ; ) _________________________ Forgotten Realms Weave

I give a ten to offset the unfairly low scores given by some to this highly entertaining, and for me at least, bug-free module . Still stands up with the best stuff on the vault after all this time. Great Work Trinity and thank you ! I am surprised I had not found this gem before :-)

Trinity, very nice module. I had not a single bug and had a great time with the story and the battles. The time travel quests were particularly fun and brought back some OC memories. Thanks for a very good design. Looking forward to the rest of the saga.

This mod has been alot of fun and I look forward to completeing the series.
I seem to have lost Roberto's head during a multi player game crash and would like to regenerate it to complete the quest. If someone could provide the item name, I would like to regenerate it via dm_spawnitem rather that restart the entire mod.

For the quest to find the book in the goblin cave, my half-orc couldn't fit through the geometry of the cave opening; the teeth kept getting in the way. I'm not sure if it's something you did for this mod, or if it's nwn tiles. If it's nwn, I'm amazed they haven't fixed such a silly problem.
I usually play human or elf, so I never noticed this problem before. I did have the half-orc henchman in the main game and he never seemed to get stuck like that, but then henchmen warp to you when you zone, so... anyway, any ideas for how to proceed with my half-orc, or am I just stuck using a human?

There are bugs in this game that make it impossible to complete (you have to load module part 2 manually), but Trinity herself verifies that it has to do with the age of the mod and its old scripting versus the new updated NWN patch 1.66.
So downscoring her for failed scripting that was perfect in the mod's time is unfair.
Therefore, it's good in today's time and the extra music is a plus. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

Trinity,
How do I get to the pit fiend in the tomb in the south road area?
Also, that brazier that opens the portal back out to the south road needs to be made undestroyable. Otherwise you're trapped. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

Running round in circles - Can't find the part of the staff from the Dania quest, despite searching every square centimetre of everything in Crypts etc. Any help would be great. Willster

Just started playing it and I like it so far. The inspiration seems a little obvious though. You start off in Morrowind then walk into Desperado.

Size is truly impressive, but gameplay is not so compelling.
