Description
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if YOU were suddenly transported to a fantasy world?
This module assumes that you are walking along through the local park and get stuck in a thunderstorm. You run for shelter when suddenly you experience an explosion of light and sound. You feel yourself falling and everything becomes dark.
When you wake up, you are in an unusual room with two oddly dressed ladies talking. You feel strange, as though your skin doesn't fit right. Then you begin to have a conversation with the two ladies. That's when things take a turn for the weird.
Try to survive in someone else's body in a D&D world. Can you get back? Is there some sort of dragon killing wand somewhere? Who the hell let all of these zombies roam around town anyway? This truly is a Resurrection Gone Wrong!
It is vital that you take ranks in either bluff, intimidate, or persuade if you wish to succeed in the final quest. You only have to have one of those skills.
This module only works with Single Player, certain scripts ruin multiplayer play and when it has been tried, it has ruined the experience. My deepest apologies to multiplayer types.
There are four henchmen available; Merina, a sorceress/druid, Gothiya, a cleric, Kasath a lizardfolk barbarian, and Zombie Bob a rogue. I recommend taking them with you. They will make the battles a bit easier and they provide opportunities for humorous conversations.
This is set in the world of Janopsye, originally created by Mark Sturgil, and worked on by Mark, myself and Ralph.
Made with help from the NWN community, in particular, the NWN Lexicon, Lilac Soul's script generator, numerous scripts borrowed from Valine's ADWR (no content though), Help from Thaladar9, FesterPot, Cereborn, Beerfish, Nereng, Axe Murderer, Sunjammer, Sharona Curves, Sir Elric, Corysia, nereng. (possibly a few others that I've missed) The entire community is great.
Also, the concept of the Zombie Master was borrowed from Piers Anthony's Xanth series. I intend to give him back when I'm done.

Added a pdf map. The town of Choik, where this module is set is in the southern part of the country of Litra. The next module: Resurrection gone Wronger, will be in the northern part of the country.
This is a pdf file of the map of Litra where this module and the sequel, Resurrection Gone Wronger, are set. This module is set in the southern part of the country, along the Smuggler's Road.

Fantastic work! I'm embarassed that I didn't play this until now! It's a parody, true, but it's also a great story and has really interesting characters.
Great work! But coming from you, kookoo, I'm not surprised. :) _________________________ The less you know, the more you believe.
I emailed you with the fix. :) _________________________ My book: "Rojuun" Link

Thank you for the vote :) I emailed you with the way to get through it. I really am sorry, it is a stupid bug and I need to fix it, but I just haven't had time to do anything in the toolset lately.
I hope you enjoy Wronger too. There are a few bugs that have been found in it too. :( I haven't had time to fix those, but the game is still very playable.
I'm really glad you had fun playing it. :) _________________________ My book: "Rojuun" Link

Wow, kookoo.. i just read through all the fan mail to try and solve the problem that JBL and Blaem?? had and discovered that I hadn't voted!! I loved the mod the first time and now second time I have played it. The humor is super and the gameplay was fun... I am looking forward to playing Wronger after I get the damn priest to do the conversation with me. Having said all the good things, yeah... it isn't all that replayable, unless you are like me who re-reads novels 2 years later and re-enjoys them as memory has faded. But damn, it is a fun one!!...
Thank you very much for the vote. :) I'm glad you enjoyed the module. You are correct about it not being as polished as it could be. This was my first module and there was a lot I didn't know. Since I've finished my second module, I realize how much better this one could be. The problem is that I honestly have no desire to update this one at the moment. :(
Anyway, I really hope you enjoy part two. :)

Okay, i remember i forgot to vote for that one.
On the downside, it still needs some polish for many minor typos and such.
Also, for some unknown reason, Gothyia never ever attempted to turn undead in the ruins.
Some quests required the use of the walkthrough to be completed or at least, to provide alternative routes (the dragon comes to mind).
There were a few powerful magic items (for example, the bracers providing Haste and +4 AC bonus), which seemed a little overpowered.
At the end, the walktrough says your character is put in a special "waiting area". Never happened for me.
None of these was a game-stopper, but they are still glitches and typos.
On the other and, although english is not my native tongue, the dialogs were very funny and not laden with obscure references a non-native speaker could not hope to understand.
Hi Coverta,
I'm sorry it took so long to respond. Life has been a bit insane lately. . . By that, i mean more so than usual. :P Thank you for the vote! I really appreciate it. You're going to really regret the request for things to be more complicated when you play part two! I can't even wrap my mind around some of the quests *laughing* You are correct about this module needing more role-playing choices. It really does, but I do address that in part 2 as well. I've just about got it ready to release.
The house on the hill is an idea that I have that has never been developed. It is intended for an addition later on, but I haven't gotten that far and may never do so. :( The problem is that I am so burned out on building at the moment that I never want to look at the toolset again.
In any case, I think you will enjoy part two. There is more Bill and Tedish humor in it as well as more Zombie Bob. ;) _________________________ My book: "Rojuun" Link

I came across your mod after I saw the sequel listed in the new mod list (sorry to see you're having problems and look forward to playing it :) )
Anyhow this was a fun mod, I couldn't help but think I had fallen into a bizarre Bill & Ted Adventure. The henchmen interaction with eachother was funny and I especially enjoyed Bob's humour and speech deficiency.
I just wish there was a little more to this...I liked the fiesty PC replies in conversation, but would have been happy to have a choice and therefore more roleplay option with perhaps some skill checks. The main quest to find the books could have been a little more involved or more complicated to obtain.
Overall I liked this and look forward to playing part 2. Incidently there was a question I had...the house on the hill in the town, could you get in there or was that just in reference to a movie? :S
I've been thinking about the grammar and sentence structure issues. It's been mentioned a few times. I think a lot of this is how I wrote this module *and the next one*. On many of the things I wrote, I wrote them as I heard the characters talking. If someone in the module had bad grammar, I wrote that way. I think that may be part of it. Some of it is bad grammar on my writing, but I think some is an affectation.
The sophomoric part: I was going for juniormoric or seniormoric, but I just came short. . . . . . . :D I think that joke was freshomoric.
My kids tell me sometimes that I'm the only one that thinks I'm funny :p I tell them that I'm the only one I'm truly trying to amuse. ;)
I do tend to write from the male perspective and I just can't seem to overcome it much. I've tried hard to write otherwise, but I don't succeed entirely. Although some people say they mistake me for a girl, but they are just mean, so I don't count them. :p
I love that you laughed and had some fun. I also like that I created memorable characters. :) I will get Zombie Bob's quest fixed. Grrrrrr.
In any case. Thank you so much for playing and thank you for the vote. It really is nice when people enjoy it. :)

What a hoot! This is the funniest mod I've played. Of course, I don't normally play humorous mods, but, that's just a small detail we can overlook.
There were quite a few type-o's, grammar mistakes and sentence structure issues, however I had so much fun with this one that I easily overlooked these (and for those who have seen my responses before, you know I normally have issues with this!).
I was laughing, groaning (oh! no more stag beetles!), and just rolling my eyes all throughout my play. The language was a bit "sophomoric", and more geared toward a male character, but, again, I was able to overlook that with the amount of fun I was having.
I've downloaded part 2, and am gonna get it started.
Thanks! _________________________ Well...who would have thought THAT would happen?
This was definitely not meant to be taken seriously. While I tried to back up some of the concepts with some sort of explanation, it can be thin in spots. *chuckling* I think that most modern blockbuster sci-fi and fantasy have a lot thinner logic and reasoning than I do in this!
Other than that, I'm not to worried about it. I know that a lot of my humor is bad puns and just downright silly. Some of the out of character stuff is intentional and sometimes I'm just amusing myself. ;) After building part two, there are a lot of things that could have been done much better in part 1.
I think that one of the most difficult things about this module and the one I'm making now, is that I'm writing in a specific manner that is sometimes hard to understand, especially if the player is not American. I use a lot of California slang and I change words and grammar to add an American accent to things for the player. Many of my references are easy to miss and sometimes I even add a private joke or two. These things make it hard for many players to be able to get into it. I've thought about toning it down in part two, but honestly, it's even more predominant in part 2. I like writing with an affectation. It's what makes it fun for me. :)
In any case, I'll have part 2 out next weekend. It will probably be buggy at first because it's fairly large and I haven't been able to test things anywhere near as well as I would like, but I think I've done a pretty good job on it. :)
Thank you for your comments, and I really wish they would bring Mystery Science Theatre back. That was an awesome show! _________________________ My book: "Rojuun" Link

I actually thought the way the PC was introduced to the world was one of the more charming aspects of the mod. It was campy and funny, and set the tone for the mod very well in my opinion.
RGW reminds me of one of those bad (and in this case, bad means good) fantasy/horror films of the early 80's - something the MST3K guys would have fun with. I could be wrong, but I never got the impression that the author was going for "convincing" in this story ;)
Thank you very much for the vote and comments olivier_leroux. I am very glad you had fun playing it. You make very good points about the polish and fine tuning. There were many things I could have done better. I think you will enjoy part two for the most part, although the humor is even heavier with more of the bad puns and Californication of the language in it. ;)
When I get the chance to re-work this module, I'll look at the battle options for Merina and fix that aspect. _________________________ My book: "Rojuun" Link

+ Contains a lot of original and amusing ideas, talking to NPCs in Choik and beyond was fun
+ Unusual henchmen with bug-free banter (even if you're a bit ahead of them their conversations will trigger)
+ Custom world with custom books
+ Time passes on resting
- Although listed as "medium" RP there was hardly any opportunity for roleplaying my character; apart from being allowed to skip the occasional smartass comment, the PC is predefined as a sarcastic ... teenager(?). Can be funny at times, but it also gets old fast (at least if you're not a sarcastic .... teenager(?) yourself).
- The level of polish could have been better, typos and logical errors in conversations were not an uncommon occurrence.
- Some conversations were just too goofy for me (there were occasional OOC jokes, too), and it took me some time to get used to the mod's style. Actually only my third attempt at playing it for longer than a quarter of an hour was successful, because I've found the initial conversations with the witches and the way the PC was introduced to the world not very convincing. Fortunately once I started exploring Choik it got a lot better.
- There was no option to tell Merina to stay out of melee battles which made dealing with her a bit annoying. For the first few levels I always told her to wait when the rest of the party got involved in a fight.
- No shortcuts, which resulted in having to walk to and fro through a few dungeon areas. In the end I used the console to jump between areas and save time.
Anyway, while it is not quite perfect, I had fun playing it. I especially enjoyed the abundance of witty and surprising ideas, which despite the goofiness sometimes made the scenarios even more realistic and interesting. :)
Thanks for sharing the mod, I look forward to playing part 2!

Just popped over looking for news on part 2 and noticed you got HoF. Congrats :D well deserved!!!
Leslie. I am so glad you enjoyed it! Especially the humor. I try to write a good story that makes people laugh. I think you will enjoy part 2. There are even more opportunities for conversation like that. I definitely have a specific style of dialogue. lol. I have a lot of fun writing it. Part 2 is in beta right now and I should have a playable version released in a couple of weeks. _________________________ My book: "Rojuun" Link

Played this and totally enjoyed it. It was nice to read all around. The journal entries, the conversations, the items all of it. I loved the storyline too.
I found no bugs at all.
It gets a perfect ten just because of how much time I spent laughing at the dialogue... What made it funnier was I think the dialogue pretty much matched verbatim what I would say too.
I cannot hardly wait for the sequel! _________________________ Stupidity kills people.

Thank you for the congrats Fester Pot and berra. :) I am extremely happy about it.
Thank you very much for the vote Steve. I tried to keep the profanity to a minimum to where I thought it would be realistic. When giving it a teen rating, I considered that my kids watch PG-13 movies with much more profanity in it than this lol.
As far as Bob being able to pickpocket the key, I hadn't thought of that. I'll see if I can do it. I should be able to run a check on that, I think. After I put out part 2, I'm going to re-work part one, so I'll put that on my list to do. :) _________________________ My book: "Rojuun" Link

Profanity caused me to lower my score - this should be maturely rated because of this.
Also, would it be possible to script Bob to pickpocket the keys from the wizard who has the soulstone? _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.
