Description

The Accursed Tower starts in the city of Luskan and continues in Icewind Dale around the great lake known as Maer Dualdon.
The player characters become the unwitting accomplices to a wizard as he searches for the tower and diary of a long-dead necromancer in Early 1369 DR.

I converted the mod as best I could, adding plot build-up when needed and extra adventures when suggested by RA in the mod.
A lot of his descriptions are used in the narration, so if you're a fan of RA, you should enjoy the RPG elements.
If you're a fan of the IWD setting, books, and games, you should have fun too.

V.6. Addressed reported bugs, fixed a few others. Added a mine in Hundlestone under the Stone's Throw. Also added a 'market' in Luskan. And, I added the IWD NPC's as one of the cheat party choices.

for what it is worth the player character seems like he has to be at least level 4 to interact properly with the Hermit after you have the bag of water. At level 3 the hermit says something along the lines of "...after you are stronger". Normally I don't use the henchmen at all so being level 4 by the time my pc reaches the hermit is no problem but playing through with the henchman left me short of XP to finish the water quest. I "DM'd" some XP to solve the problem. I think it would be best if the hermit would work with a level 3 character as by the time you reach him with the water bag most of what can be done has been done. I wasn't sure about clearing the Dwarven mine before or after the hermit so I tried it both ways. Before is better for several reasons. I think change the hermit's conversation to insist that the player find the dwarven mine before moving on would be the most elegant solution. I think it is possible to mess up the "wood and metal" quest by dealing with the hermit before taking the wood and metal to Peddywinkle.

melquisedeq - Regarding the water bag, maybe you have things in your overrride folder interfering..? If you follow the npc quest, the hammer and pipes are in the tower near arachne's cave, the ring is from the duergar mines ghost, and the gauntles are from Amraith. _________________________ Well, y'know... yes, and taking the walkthrough I was exactly at that point, hadn't skipped a single step. Anyway, I used Sir Stuck to move ahead, and now what happens is I'm missing the items for Guthewulfe... I've already finished all 4 Luskan NPC quests, but he says it's not enough. Went back to every single merchant to make sure I didn't sell one by mistake, but none has any of the items you mention. Could you please give me their full discription (not just hammer ring gauntlet pipes), perhaps how to spawn them via console? I think it's the hammer but may be wrong.

Fun mod... however, the hermit refuses the water.
I read the walkthrough and apparently he should take it and move away or something, so that I can talk to a pillar of ice and spawn some guy that attacks me and drops a sword... Yet all the hermit says is something like "come back when you're bigger". Any help would be much appreciated :) Been thoroughly enjoying it, so far, btw.

We managed to sneak in a few hours of game time last night and it was good. The date on the game save menu mocks me when I realize that we hadn't gotten to play since April 28! The problem is going to work...

on the water fill quest there is a spring that you click on once you have the bag. The spring is important for metal as well. I don't suspect there's any skipping that quest. The spring is past the bridge and past two starving bears. Turn left after coming off the bridge...
I feel a bit guilty killing so many animals but there's no other way. It's tough being a lawful ranger...
I don't recall a snow leopard spirit. We made it through the sea of ice last night and got back to see Regis and then marched through the tower to level 6 before bedtime. Some of the room conversations may not have been firing properly on MP because sometimes if I entered a room it'd say "you are too excited to talk right now" and I encountered more rooms than I remember that had no activity or items of any sort in them. The fog in the Sea of Ice really slowed our machines way down. I'd be tempted to ditch that effect because anyone with an "average" computer is going to be miserable there. I don't think there'll be any chance for me to play next weekend because I have to travel for work.

I believe it is a conversation option with Peddywinkle at the top left portion of the map. There's a cave that has to be cleared first. The first troll isn't the only one. The path to the cave can be hard to spot from certain camera angles

We made it to Targos last night. It all looked so good, I really felt like we had accomplished something. After going through the passage underground the conversation option indicated go back and tell Peddywinkle what we had found and we did but his conversation option was the same as far as continuing on (turn in the head). It seemed like that conversation should have been different? ...but we had been on the road so long that when we had the chance (and the surrounding environs had been cleaned up really thoroughly) we turned in the head and made it to cold, cold Targos! We are having SO MUCH FUN with it!
