Welcome to "A Prince of Light, or Shadow," a Neverwinternights 2 Module designed as a retelling of the fairy tale, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves." In this Module you play as the Prince and you begin by meeting a dwarf named Sullen Sorrowstone while wandering a forest trail. From there, the adventure is yours to discover!
Tips & Notes:
Module is designed for new, Male melee characters, level 1.
You will receive the necessary xp to reach lvl 4 at the beginning of the module, when you accept the Quest.
Your dialogue choices are EXTREMELY important. They will determine what options you receive in future conversations.
There are TWO DRASTICALLY DIFFERENT ENDINGS. Play through twice to explore both the good and evil paths.
Read the Quest Journal updates frequently if you get stuck.
Read the COMPLETED QUEST JOURNAL ENTRIES for the complete END STORY.
All the module items are UNIQUE. No stock items!
Read the description on the BLOODMAIL if you take the evil path for even more back story on the witches!
Firstly, I really enjoyed the area design. I think that was my favorite thing about the mod. Three very different atmospheres for the three witches. I also liked that the creatures' names reflected who their area's witch was, and how the armor and healing potions reflected how your character was advancing--as long as you played a good character, that is. I would have liked to see those same items reflect an evil or neutral character. Also, since you said the mod was for melee characters, I played a monk for the good path and a barbarian for the evil, and neither time could I wear the special armor. The dialogue for the PC seemed a bit...trite, I guess? Though the witches' attempts to dissuade the good character were well done. The evil path seemed a lot less developed, though I have a feeling I missed a bit because of the dialogues I chose, reading through the comments, so I'm not counting off for it. All in all, it was quite enjoyable and I really liked the actual story of sullen sorrowstone, how he was neither culpable nor innocent. I get the feeling you could make a really excellent mod if you had the time and energy. _________________________ They say the Prince of Darkness is a gentleman, and as it turns out, they're right. A fine gentleman.

Nice to play a mod. that primarily focusses on one grimm story. The twist at the end and the multiple outcomes was well done.

Simple story mixed with "suggested" subject material that should be rated Adult. (Incest between daughters\king for exp., 7 dwarf lovin' (Nice touch BTW), etc.) Lack of real roleplay and very linear story was a downside, but the atmosphere made up for it. (Like the previous post stated, more roleplay mixed the atmosphere would have been nice.) Still the mod was fun, and that is what matters. (Still Snow white would be more attractive if she had a "beard" for exp.)

For obvious reasons, I held off posting whilst the contest was running. First of all, you certainly have a talent for nice looking areas, and the dialog was decently written. However, where this module could have needed improvement is on the limits. Everything is limited. I can only play a fighter type character, the maps are single path only (even when they look open) and the dialog only offers a couple of choices. I also ran into the game-breaker bug posted by others. Looking forward to your next mod, I think you could be on to a winner if you combined your talent for area design with allowing more free-form play (with side quests, companions and explorable areas). Overall I rank this a 6.0 ? a qualified recommendation for those who don't mind playing within strict limits.

Good story with funny dialogue.

Got hit with the same bug as Thirdpres (the lying path is broken). Also, unlooted corpses fade on reload. Area design is quite pretty and playable, but the fights are way too easy for any combat build (take expertise and you'll never get hit). Also, you should specify strength-based only, as a dex/TWF build is useless with the equipment here.

not a bad module but this might be a bug at the end...if you shoose too everytime you open up dialog with Snow White you get 4000XP...you can do this until you hit lvl 20. i dont think this was intentional but i figured i would point it out.

One of my favorite submissions. Cons -Linear -Easy combat & respawning which removes any challenge -No companions -The plot, imho, was great, but really could have benefitted from the witches being more tricky. It is painfully obvious they are playing you for a fool... would have worked much better if they appeared as sweet ladies hiding their evilness and really trying to pin the blame on the dwarf. These may sound like heavy criticisms, but the fantastic scenery, ability to play twice with two different outcomes and excellent writing made up for the shortcomings. I played about 5 different times and the module, IMHO, simply does what it set out to do and is entertaining.

" 3 - Poor Execution, Potential Unrealized" Definitely I can't add more. The potential is seen: good theme. But this is just linear mod, that tries to do something with the plot by fails... And there bugs in the dialogue with the fourth witch. For example, the dark elf barbarian (yyyyes) was unable to wear the "evil armor" (maybe where were some other ways to procede, but they were unseen). And so on. I wish you luck in future module works. Still its 3, not zero!
10 - A Masterpiece, Genuinely Groundbreaking 9 - Outstanding, a Must Have 8 - Excellent, Recommended to Anyone 7 - Very Good, Deserves a Look 6 - Good, Qualified Recommendation 5 - Fair, Solid yet Unremarkable 4 - Some Merit, Requires Improvements 3 - Poor Execution, Potential Unrealized 2 - Very Little Appeal 1 - Not Recommended to Anyone
