Description
Did you ever want to play the dark side? How about being one of the most evil, dreaded, despised creatures of Faerun? How about being a drow?
Find out in this roleplaying module.
A Hunt through the Dark Remastered is a conversion of my Hall of Fame series for NWN1. I took some freedom to change some elements and the storyline to create a more exciting, thrilling experience based on the new drow novels of the "War of the Spiderqueen" and "Lady Petinent" series. This means, the classic A Hunt through the Dark series is cut with the end of chapter 3 and a new storyline unfolds in chapter 4.
A Hunt through the Dark Remastered is the first part of a trilogy covering the time and events of Lolth's silence.
You can find links to background literature at our homepage at
I enjoyed playing through this module. The story line was interesting with some nice surprises. The characters were well written.

(Why isn't there any edit system here?) Well... I'm lost. I don't understand. I make a character, the DC is 36. I make a new one, the DC is 20. I have no idea wtf is it like that but, seems that now it's playable at least and I can enjoy one of the few Drow-modules. Mby it has to do with the fact I asked to be 6 this time instead of 5... but it would be quite irrational. I still find it sad to be forced to play a rogue.

Something is wrong there. I won't vote because somehow it seems that if you manage to get past the frustrating ten minutes it's fun. But seriously... traps EVERYWHERE, first one has a DC of... 36! For a level 5 or even 4 character, are u sure? Basically you have 1/20 chances to disable a trap because you need to get a 20 for it to work? With no starting gold whatsoever to get healing potions? (yeah you have 4 healing thingies that I don't know the English term for, ain't gonna bring u far) Even rogues can't seem to get past that except with a huge amount of luck. The allies can't even be controlled -at least the militian we have early- and anyway they can't disable traps. So...only way is to rush on the traps or to summon something on them it seems. Sad. You can't even avoid the said traps, you're FORCED to play a rogue.

While I have enjoyed the module so far, I get the feeling that this module is... lacking something... (maybe too linear **spoiler** e.g. there isn't an option not to kill the adventurers after they've cleared out the bugbear camp **spoiler end**). I also hit the bug with the illithid/beholder that when I accepted the quest and brought the beholder brain to the mindflayer he ignored me. It's been many years since I played the nwn1 version so I wasn't sure what was changed. The lack of a vendor is also trouble, the only one we got was right at the beginning and stopped functioning after the first quest, I didn't invest in the lore skill so I had to rely on the companion **spoiler again** (who eventually died) **spoiler end** . this leaves a lot of unidentified items towards the end (and I was fortunately to have brought a bag of holding with me - a habit when not playing a str-based class) All in all a well-written mod with a solid storyline, but some of the minor inconveniences can be really annoying. Gonna start part 2 and I'm looking forward to it.

I've really appreciated this module. Maybe the fights were a little bit simple, but i've liked the story and the underdak set, i will start the second chapter soon.

I have only just started playing this module and I am liking the "being a drow in the Underdark" part as I have never tried a Drow PC before. I have realised that the storyline is very much linear so I am prepared for that (A rollercoaster has a predetermined path also...) I think I found a bug - I have just found the deep goblins that I was ordered to kill and when I tried talking to them, I asked the leader (? - the one who spoke to my party) what they might have to offer for their freedom when Calulith says "We were ordered to kill them." PC (me) replies "Let's do this thing", but then only that one deep goblin warrior turned hostile, he was an easy kill at 5:1. I had to RMB attack the rest {hey I'm Lawful Evil >;-O }- I guess their faction wasn't changed? Keep up the good work.

Downloaded way back, but never got to comment. A module very well done.

Amazing module. First time I've played a drow and it was fun. And I even wasn't evil, just self-centered, cynical and ambitious.
