Description
Did you ever want to play the dark side? How about being one of the most evil, dreaded, despised creatures of Faerun? How about being a drow?
Find out in this roleplaying module.
A Hunt through the Dark Remastered is a conversion of my Hall of Fame series for NWN1. I took some freedom to change some elements and the storyline to create a more exciting, thrilling experience based on the new drow novels of the "War of the Spiderqueen" and "Lady Petinent" series. This means, the classic A Hunt through the Dark series is cut with the end of chapter 3 and a new storyline unfolds in chapter 4.
A Hunt through the Dark Remastered is the first part of a trilogy covering the time and events of Lolth's silence.

Great story, atmosphere and characters. Had a bit of a rough start to get into the evil Drow playstyle but once you go with it, it's quite enjoyable.

Good job on this module. Some of the fights were wicked hard playing with a rogue/ranger. Recommended.

I've played the NWN version which was longer. This version is very well done and the story is a little different but interesting. The final battle is impossible for the devil. I encounter some bugs, none breaking the game.

luday87 : "it is a pity there isn't content support for female character" It is practically impossible to make a "drow" game with identical content for males and females. Females rule drow society and males are essentially their slaves. The problem is that you just cant justify similar plot unfolding for both genders. _________________________ I do not have a superman complex; for I am God, not Superman!

Fun adaptation of your previous module. I see some MAJOR changes to the plot though. The actual "missions" are the same, but the state of the world (hint: lolth) has majorly shifted. I don't understand what you are trying to do with the economy here. Basically every goblin drops a +15 godslaying weapon (well, ok, not really, mostly adamantium weapons, and many powerful items), I even got myself a staff of the magi, a minor artifact in the PnP game that has been significantly beefed up by more spells, lost the SR (as a drow my natural SR is higher anyways), and replaced "absorb enemy spells into charges but may explode if overdone, and the amount it has is unknown to you" with "you know exactly how many charges, and you can charge it yourself by casting spells on it (oh look, I have a ton of items with use per day spells of high levels). I had tons of + spell slots items as well, and other obscenely powerful items. Sure I had to LEAVE most of the loot behind, but I still got to sell plenty of it, the merchants are capped, usually at 1000gp per item (so its funny when i sell them a 50k item for 1000gp), and a limited amount of gold to buy items with, I still ended up with over 100k gp (and nothing worthwhile to buy... not that i needed to, i kept on getting godly uberloot). There was a grand total of ONE merchant who will buy stuff in this module, the next one lolchiwani or however it is spelled, had 4 i think. Still I completely drained the funds of every merchant I came across, leaving me with gobs and gobs of money, and a ton of items I lugged about still, and a ton of items discarded... Basically you get uber godly items, including supercharged artifacts, as random loot. You cannot sell or buy anything, so you don't get a choice. Play a "wrong" class and you don't have loot, play a "right" class and you become a god because of said drops. (ex, a wizard or sorcerer highly recommended, you get a staff of the magi!) _________________________ I do not have a superman complex; for I am God, not Superman!

I think I ran into a game stopping bug. After the quests I mentioned earlier, when I have the wand of energy immunity, I need to talk to Piwiewien to be able to advance, but she doesn't talk to me. So far I only ran into bugs in this area. I'll try an old saved game and if that doesn't work I guess I'll have to restart the module. I tried cleaning my override, but that didn't change anything.

Hi Markus. Maybe you're already aware of this, but I ran into some bugs in the ilithid/beholder quest. If I kill the beholder, then the ilithid won't talk to me, so I can't complete the quest that way. If I kill the ilithid and then inform the beholder and claim my reward, I don't lose the ilithid brain (I don't remember if was the brain or another thing, the proof that you killed him), it's still in my inventory. I guess the latter isn't a big deal, but just in case. I maybe should say that I got the quest from the ilithid first, maybe there's no bug if I speak first with the beholder. I'll try it if I have a previous saved game. About the driders quest, if you use their help to kill Sywym, they all die, so I can't speak with the drider leader after that. I made the quest again, killing the lich myself, so I know there's no reward, but is this normal? At first I though it was a bug and that I should be able to speak with the leader, but with no reward, maybe it was intended this way. I'm liking your module so far, just pointing out some bugs. I played the NWN 1 version too, so I'm looking forward for the rest of the story. I'll play Lolthanchwi when I finish this one. Congratulations on the module of the year, I'm a bit late but better late than never!
