After consideration I've descided to drop my vote by one number in order to adjust it my current criterias. This is mainly because I've played many other modules after this. The problem of this module is that it's not ambitious.

Too short story and for my taste but it was nice and fun way to kill time.

I found this a 'okay' module. I suggest a little more time with each area, I found the areas almost boring. The story is short and little, but it is ok, you get a 7!

Posted by Mirgalen at 2007-11-23 18:34:22
Since this is the first nwn2 module I completed I would rather not vote or at least not yet.

1. Storyline:4
Quite limited and what you get seems to make very little sense.

2. Roleplaying: n/a

3. Diffuculty: 3
Module unplayable with non melee classes and still very difficult for melee classes due to lack of equipment and number of foes you have to handle at a time.

4. Visuals: 8

5. Loot: 3
Can I take the stuff from the dead guards please?
Level up right before a fight does not work for character who may need to rest to make use of new spells or abilities.

Other: Got stuck in a room with a tricky transition.

This was a nice, straight forward module for occupying some free time.
The combats were challenging, which I enjoyed. There wasn't much variety in the enemies, but that does fit the story. I was frustrated that the guards couldn't be looted for weapons and shields, but limiting the supply of weapons may have been intentional.

Amusing little adventure, though it seemed a bit odd that I started off fully equipped from my previous adventures. If my gear was stored in a box outside of the prison cell, that'd work.

Otherwise, a fun, short distraction!

Tried to D/L but got a 404 error. Sounds worth a go though, so would like to play this.

This is a great start for a mod. I felt like there was a lot of story but only a little of it was shown.

-spoilers-

I think this would make a great larger mod. The area seemed very straight forward with little in the way of exploration and no traps. The king is insane and trying to hide from a devil he sold is soul to. Having twisting maze like areas with bizarre tricks and traps, secret passages, elaborate locks with levers and contraptions to move forward would emphasize the kings paranoia and fear of the Devil.
I found the battles challenging and enjoyable.
This was a fun mod. with a great story and with further development and expansion it would be a great gaming experience.

A Basic Hack-n-slash adventure. 0 Role playing, with a sparse story line. The mod also appears to be in a unfinished state. With backward doors, doors that lead to no where, and German descriptions? The script is simple and basic, and the simple story appears to be a excuse to kill things.

Noting that the Mod's author primary language appears to not be english. I gave the mod a +1.5.

For me, the Battle's were just right. ie a challenge without being impossible.

A short diversion - worth playing but really seems like a prologue. Would like to see a fleshed out story; seems like this is a good start.

Very basic, but fun.

I'm glad that many people enjoyed playing the mod. It went out on the disk that accompanies the european magazine PC Games. A couple months ago, so hopefully they liked it too! I'm working on three different mods right now, one for NWN1 and one is the Flight from Death Prequel. The third is just an unrelated NWN2 mod. So if you enjoyed this mod look for the prequel coming in early february.

Thank you.

Nothing fancy, simple and bug free, good.

I agree with Shadius, this ain't gonna win any awards but it was curiously fun. If you keep working on this mod or make another one, I'll give it a look.

My vote is based on the following criteria and on the NWN2 voting standards:
1. Storyline - whether or not the module offers any kind of story. Obviously this depends on the type and length of the module.
2. Roleplaying - as above but regarding roleplay opportunities and the effect of your actions.
3. Diffuculty - whether the module scales to the level it was intended to. A high score does not mean that it is a very difficult module but mainly means that it was a good chanllenge thus neither too easy nor impossible.
4. Visuals - a vote on how the author used the tileset to produce a pleasent and adequate atmosphere.
5. Loot - whether loot is realistic and adequate. A high score does not mean that there is a lot of loot but mainly means that the loot is related to the story and neither excessive nor too little.

A FLIGHT FROM DEATH

First of all it must be kept in mind that this is a short 30 minute hack'n'slash module. Therefore no epic storyline is expected. The score is therefore adapted to the type of module.

1. Storyline - 5 - sometimes to vague but at least there is a reason for your actions.
2. Roleplaying - 5 - obviously limited in such a module, however the author still tries to offer dialogue options.
3. Difficulty - 5 - this depends on the character. Probably too easy for melee and too difficult for non - melee.
4. Visuals - 6 - very good use of the toolset.
5. Loot - 6 - loot makes sense in most circumstances, is well placed and not overpowering. Maybe a store at the end of the story would have helped.

Overall - 5.5 - I think this is a very good module for a first try. The score is between fair and good relative to the potential of the community and the toolset. The score would be much higher if related to the current modules.

Hi,

I enjoyed playing your module with a friend of mine, besides the little bug with the door we found one see-through corner, can't remember where though. All in all a great job and a fun to play module while we all wait for bigger ones still in creation.
Play it if you didn't do so already!

Perhaps you could add a little more dialogue at the end, the typical "I'm ready to leave" and "No, I'm not ready yet" so people can properly export their characters before the end.
(All modders reading this, please do so, too)
It's enoying not having exported, when the module suddenly finishes. - I'm always hope the module might still continue .... :-)

For such an early game it's very good. I very much enjoyed it. Too often hack-and-slash modules don't have a story beyond the intro but yours got me interested in the adventure and the characters involved.

I think all the minor criticisms have been said so I'll just say keep it up. I look forward to your next module.

A very short module, but well done. Hack 'n slash, with a little roleplay. Atmosphere was fine, it was quite linear but still nice. I don't know what else to add.

My vote: 5 - Fair, Solid yet Unremarkable.

I like the basic concept, which is that you've been imprisoned for a crime that you didn't commit and have to escape. There are also some efforts at the beginnings of a story here, and some basic roleplaying. For example, it seems as though one aspect of a conversation varies depending on your character's class. I also was pleased to see that a companion is available and functional -- this is the first community module I've played that uses one.

But I think this mod could be improved greatly with some adjustments. For example, the spawning design seemed a bit off. Spawn triggers were placed just past the entrance of many rooms. While functionally this works fine, the effect was that guards appeared out of thin air, which just seemed weird--not to mention was frustrating at times, because I couldn't tell where the guards were until after I entered the room. Area design might also be improved a bit. Interior areas are nicely decorated, but the outdoor areas were completely flat--and noticeably so. Granted, it's a city, but few cities have perfectly flat ground. Adding more variety to the profile -- even a small channel in the center of the street--might spice the place up quite a bit. Also, the doors in the city do not connect to anything (I'd recommend plot locking them instead with some pop-up text explaining there's nothing of interest inside), and there even appeared to be a backwards door in one of the dungeons.

Still, it's a promising first effort, and I thank you for sharing it. -B

Decent for a quick hak n slash. Was surprised couldn't loot some basic armor off the guard you kill.Don't remember any particular bug issues.

Good work, I voted 6 as I find "Good, Qualified Recommendation" a fair desription of your module.
Pros:
1. The Environments where overall very good and you especially did a good job with the placeables, although you missed some lightsources for your lights, but that's not a big issue.
2. The Battles were challenging enough to keep the module going, well balanced.
Cons.
1. Few conversation options, for example the player is forced into fighting the first guard (or did I fail to notice the other option?)
2. Linear, same enemies, no new things happening, nothing which really cathes the player's attention (although it's hard to find place for such things in such a short module).

I only had one issue, after having died immediately after attacking the first guard I tried running away searching for a other way of killing him. So I see a door, run to it, and what happens? The conversation with the prisoner begins and soon after that, I'm dead again. Now the guard run over to attack the Bevil look-alike and bam he's dead.

To sum this up I would like to wish you good luck on whatever you're working on now, and congratulate you on the good work you have done on this module and the results of it.

Posted by Democrito at 2006-12-10 15:13:47    Voted 6.00 on 12/10/06
The thing I mostly like of this module is his potential. I specially like the relationship between the two characters, with dialogues during the game.
On the other hand, the story is much too linear, exploration is poor and the guards are really powerful at this state of the game. And my paladin/warrior wouldn't want to kill the king and begging a devil...

In conclusion, I like the spirit of the module but not his structure. Anyway, it's worth a play!
