The Scripted Lighting System Version 2 (SLS2) is a set of scripts, blueprints and prefabs for Neverwinter Nights 2 module builders. The system allows builders to setup complex lighting effects without the need for extensive scripting knowledge.
All the main setup is done though variables.
The original SLS was a basic system which let builders set their lights to turn on and off at specified times of day allowing you to have an exterior area where the lights turned off during the day.
I saw room for improvement and started working on SLS2. This ended up being a complete rewrite with SLS2 becoming a complete lighting control and event system.
Of course SLS2 still allows you to set automatic day/night schedules for your lights but there are now many other ways of controlling what your lights do. Triggers, conversations and scripts can all be used to modify lights in different ways.
This is a replacement for SLS1 rather than an upgrade, more info in the docs.
The system requires MOTB or at least patch 1.10 so I've left the old version available should you require it.
Key Features:
* Day/Night settings for your lights
* Control light from conversations/cutscenes
* Change light with triggers
* Easy script access to your lights
* Turn lights on or off and change their colour
* Set lights to run in a sequence
* Have your guards automatically equip torches at night
SLS2 Includes:
* 43 light blueprints
* 27 placed effect blueprints
* Some fire re-colours for your more magical settings
( Link )
* 54 placeable blueprints with preset variables
* 109 prefabs ready to go with very little setup
* All the scripts you need and a few miscellaneous extras
It's hard to show lighting effects properly in a screenshot

Ever since I discovered the SLS script, I've used it in just about every module I've built. SLS2 is nothing short of an improvement to the original SLS code. It definitely adds a whole new dimension to making a PW interactive. I've never had any problems with lag, and I never had any conflicts with any of my other scripts. As long as people place their lights carefully within any area, it works wonders. I recommend it to any experienced toolsetter. _________________________ Remnants.

Great timesaver, lots of options, a must have. Some prefabs could be a tiny little bit more natural, but that's really nitpicking. _________________________ Middleforest - An upcoming NWN2 PW Skins for all races

Now that i've had time to mess about with this, im blown away. This really adds a huge dimension to the 'life' of area builds. Scaling out the prefabs on offer as well as adding some more natural light settings for a few of the prefab lights would be subtle positive tweaks(eg the current prefab lights do not quite meet the desired effect for some natural lighting such as fire IMO). Exceptionally well done, dare I look forward to anything new or extended here in the pipeline?

Pretty nice! I'm definitely using it in my module. However, I was disappointed that the prefabs don't include any sounds. Also, placing a fixture requires several steps just to achieve the basic day/night lighting behavior, which is all I'm interested in. It requires typing in a light tag, usually an FX tag, sometimes a sound tag, and then copying all of those to the fixture. It'd be nice if I could just slap down prefabs and get a default behavior with no tag or var editing. Regardless, nice job, Slayster. Thanks a lot!
