Description
B3 - Palace of the Silver Princess
This is the module B3 - Palace of the Silver Princess. It is intended for a begining party of adventurers. This remake is based on the work of the author Steve. I changed a few things, removed some empty spaces and added resting restrictions and respawn penalties. Then I made changes to a number of scripts and in order to prevent backtracking I added an item to simplify shoping.
The P&P module was originally made by Tom Moldvay and Jean Wells for TSR 1981. Some minor changes has been made to the introduction. Otherwise it is very much like the original.
Introduction You have heard rumors about the city of Haven. That a dragon rider appeared in the skies over the valley and that he landed and entered the palace of the silver princess holding a shining red ruby. And now all contact is broken and a red fog has settled over Haven. Do you have the courage and strength to find out the fate of the Palace of the Silver Princess?
Reply to northman999, As for a self extracting exe, Hell no!! First, that's a windows only thing. Second, if you enjoy blindly running downloaded exe's on your computer, I have a some backdoor trojans for you to run.

I really had a great ride and send my gratitude for your hard work. It was straight ahead and the views and music were wonderful. But... Never could figure out the death system , my items never responded when "used" . The Henchsystem was too timeconsuming, easier to go back to a saved game. Never found the necklace and had to leave Merin to eternal swamp wandering. Still in all what counts is vitality and interest level and that was there for me. Thanks! Hope folks keep creating NWN 1 for us MAC folks! In ensorcellment... FeyKina _________________________ ---We dance around the ring and suppose, The secret stays in the middle and knows....

Maybe this just hit him hard because the module takes up so much space and the description is rather promising. The common scenario that causes ME to make that kind of post is when I start up the mod and then hit something that forces me to fix it in the Toolset myself, and then have to start over again, but only to hit ANOTHER brick wall in the next room. >_ Faction errors are the worst because you cannot fix them with a cheat; you have to fix the scripting in the Toolset yourself and then start all over again. Worse, frankie points out two of them at once (the swamp hag and Kain)--that can`t be fun. Not to take someone`s side or anything. Such wordings as describing the spelling as "quite bad" and posting that players "should avoid" it are definitely excessive. But at least more bugs have been pointed out. And I`m definitely grateful that someone other than me ran into those first! :D Anyway, the biggest thing in my opinion is to fix the factions. At least with the nonfunctioning portals the players can cheat themselves to where they need to go and the alignment issues can be countered with LETO, though those problems should be repaired too. Keep up the good work.

Wow Frankie nice review of the mod. Way to give some constructive feedback so the author will be inspired to work on the mod. Its not the rating that you gave that is mean, but the negitive way you phrased your feedback. I dont see why anyone would want to take your review seriously or want to take any of your comments seriously. I really wish that players would be a little more gracious and helpfull rather than snarky and as if they are entitled to a mod that services all their whims.

Technical Bug report: * the return portal from Marcus does not work. * one of the other return portals (I forget) goes to the wrong place. * the 2 magic doors in main portal room have locks with no key. * some gaseous spirits fail to enter coffins and just float there. * none of the doors in Nevuchar's room are openable. plot locked, no keys, no dispel, no scripted trigger. I killed him 40+ times while trying to open them, finally used DebugMode to go to his secret back room. * Swamp Hag is hostile, so the fern thing never happens. * No one ever mentions Megrine's password. I played a rogue/wizard, if that matters. Plot bug report: * +3 lawful per ring is absurd. Why would a chaotic character bring them in? FOR THE MONEY (and XP). Duh. * After I returned Kain's daughter he says his clan will stop attacking. Doesn't happen. * Maylock is supposed to have mistresses. You mention them numerous times. * Many remains drop armor and weapons that are race-unusable...and also unsellable. What is the f***ing point of dropping them at all? * potions: fire beetle becomes fire bomb (1500gp value), whereas freaking dragon's blood becomes burning hands (40gp value). Huh?

VoS has a reasonably creepy atmosphere but beyond that was average at best. Travis lied in his description. VoS is HEAVY hack-n-slash, LIGHT roleplaying. I wish I had known this; I would not have downloaded it. Most areas have multiple monster respawns. The story is brutally linear and forced; town guy and journal direct you woodenly. Character development is negligible. The the henches are entirely robotic. Only a handful of NPCs have conversation options that affect gameplay, and then only slightly. The spelling is quite bad. The areas are excessively large and repetetive, with very little of importance. One group of areas (very late in the game) is supposed to have portals, but about half of them don't work. The henchman control system is archaic and difficult, particularly if you want to manage inventory or even feed someone a potion. Lastly, there are several bugs (which will go in a separate post). It's decent if you want "Dungeon Siege in Ravenloft", all other players should avoid.

I was wonering if anybody could help. I'm stuck on the fourth floor of a tower with a door that won't open. I've tried dispel magic, bashing it, etc. but with no luck. Is there a key that I missed or is this a puzzle of sorts. Also, is there a key for the door in the Forlorn City temple? I hate going on without seeing what's pasat these doors.
