"Storm of Zehir" is the gift that keeps on giving. To that end, some modders decided, "Hey, why don't we add more dungeons to it." Traps were set, schemes schemed, and marriages ruined by calamitous plans for further adventures.
You, NWVault community, can now play some* of the fruits of this little project.
Includes:
Gnome Outpost(The Fred)
Halfling Village(Jet Truebow)
Graveyard & More(Shaughn78)
The Inn of Hidden Tales(kamalpoe)
Underground Temple(Dorateen)
Ancient Shrine(Brian)
Naga Cave & Additions(MikeLM9215)
Coiled Cabal Outpost(Wyrin_D'njargo)
Darkstrand Maw, Pit of the Eye Tyrant, Creator Den, Cape of the Wise Man(Chaos Wielder)
Wow, that's quite a few! The thing is, due to the varied nature of the universe, the level and location variance was nearly perfect. 6 new locations for Samarach and 6 new for the Sword Coast. There's new low level adventures and, yes, even an opponent more powerful than the final boss of SOZ(be ready to die). There's a good amount of content to be played around with, and I, with the support of the NWN2 modding community, hope you enjoy this addition as much as I do.
NOTE:
All the new dungeons are visible at the start. You do not need to "find" them. This was a conscious decision so that long time players of SOZ would not need to scour the map. This could, possibly, be altered in future additions.
INSTALLATION:
Included within the project are individual instructions. Follow them to the letter--it's for your own good, really. However, it ought to be clear enough.
Mod folder goes in the modules folder.
HAK goes in the hak.
OVERRIDE in the override.
The bmu(music) goes in the music folder.
The specific instructions for editing the campaign folder are provided in the download, as they are slightly more complicated.
I cannot stress enough, however, that you BACKUP ANY FILES THAT ARE GOING TO BE OVERWRITTEN. If I could type in capital-capslock, I would. I highly doubt future problems will occur, but being careful is its own reward.
KNOWN ISSUES:
Waypoints will sometimes not display their mapnotes immediately upon finding one of the new dungeons. Upon re-entering the overland map, however, it should appear.
Journals entries for the new areas are not working. This is due to the transfer from individual projects to the whole. I apologize to the authors who spent time on this subject and for the players who might appreciate their addition. I will try and fix this in an update.
* "Wait a second", you say, a finger now sternly pressed against my face, "What's this business about 'expansion', and why is that pesky *asterisk floating around?"
Both excellent questions. You see, there are future additions that will be added to this pack. There are more adventures forthcoming, and this entry will be updated. Now, as far as an ETA, I'll provide a loving answer I've always wanted to give: "It's done when it's done."
If you'd like to submit a dungeon/area for future inclusion, please contact me via the forum link or by email:
I would appreciate some help! We have killed both factions at the Inn of Hidden Tales and understand that we can't save the celestial (why put her in then?), but when we leave the bartender accuses us of leaving without finishing the job. What are we [email protected]
Hello!
What does "All the new dungeons are visible at the start." exactly mean?
Are they meant to appear on the map as soon as the PC enters the Sword Coast?
Or are they meant to appear all the official main quests are done?
I have installed all the files (hopefully) and started to play SoZ. And now killed the BBEG and returned to the Crossroad Keep. Yet I cannot see any additional dungeons. Does that mean I have failed to install those additional dungeons somehow?

Well done community effort. Most things worked. I had trouble at the gnome outpost and at the Pit Of the Eye Tyrant. Some things there did not trigger. a good addition to SoZ.

Sorry, I meant to refer to the "Pit of the Eye Tyrant". _________________________ Too much ammo is a self correcting problem.

The new areas are great particularly the Eye of the Beholder. Incredible atmospherics in that one.
Having said that, I don't seem to have gotten any additional XP for the extra content. I'm at the same level I was on the first play through of SoZ. Any thoughts on why this isn't working?
Also stuck on the gnome door. Very irritating. _________________________ Too much ammo is a self correcting problem.

Yup, I was missing something at the Underground Temple.
Right now I'm at the Gnome Hideout and I can't find a way to open that puzzle door. Really. I'm kinda trying for 3 days. I must be very stupid ou really unlucky.
Is there any way to open that door (other than spinning the dials)? Cheat codes, a key, a mystical dance, any help is welcome.

Great stuff! Sorry it took so long to vote on it; took a while to finish with my current irl busyness.
I'll try this as soon as I can. Real life time is choking me right now.
See ya!

Hi Raduziel,
Thanks for posting your message
SPOILER
There is a second item you need in order to get the chalice. You have the cloak, but you also need something from one of the rooms where you first entered. When you have both these items, you will have the option to place first one and then the other on the platform, in order to get the cup.
I went to the plataform, gave the dwarf cloak and nothing happened. I've killed the head vampire and the yuan-ti to deliver the chalice to the dwarf and the entrance of the dungeon.
The journal entrys are all blank. Not a clue of what I'm supposed to do.
Can anyone help? How do I proceed to get de chalice?
I've just started playing some of the expansion, but have two questions.
1) In the Inn of Hidden Tales, how do you free the bound celestial woman? Is it possible?
2)In the halfling village, how does one get Zombie rags? I believe Zombies typically drop claws and there seems to be no adventuring area in the village itself.

Spoiler question:
has anyone else had it during the evil beach tree thing, I killed everything but it says I cannot leave him alive. I looked and looked.

Hey Radegund,
I'm a few weeks late seeing your comment. But if you happen to check back... There are two items you need in order to receive the cup. They are both items that would have been picked up in the dungeon. You will have to choose to leave the first item at the altar, and then the second item. That's when you will get the option to take the chalice.
Hope that helps, and thanks!

@ Chaos Wielder:
Hey, I got your email; don't know if you got my reply though, so I'll post it here.
I'd LOVE to make some areas for the next project! Please note: I'm mostly good at making areas, but I have 'little to no' scripting ability, and I don't know how to make quests at all, either. _________________________ Ugly_Ducks Portfolio

Dorateen: I really enjoyed the Cup quest. Nice looking dungeon and good tail. I must have messed the endup somehow: SPOILER: I killed the red yuan-ti before taking a cup. After that I tried everything to get the cup but always get my lungs burned. Perhaps I cannot solve it now, so I left that unfinished. I will check back if you comment on a solution. Also, I was planning to double cross the vampire, maybe that is not possible either?? Thanks
The Fred: the Gnome door is not worth the trouble. Nice idea but to time consumming to solve. But the dungeon was fun overall, best store in the early game too. _________________________ "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." Albert Einstein (Therefore I own a sword!)

can't believe it took me this long to get around to this. Amazing work, really adds new life to SOZ. my first ever perfect 10.

Woah OK that's a LOT of spam.
Yeah, sorry 'bout the Gnome leader, I managed to pin down the problem and fix it but some people have still had issues with the patch I made, it doesn't seem to be overwriting properly (possibly it has to be added before you get to that stage). _________________________ In production: The Dragon Dynasty All my other stuff
(Do we have any way to report spammers here? I do not like those spam comments.)
Anyways, in windows 7, your override directory should be: Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\override\
If there was some way to make these places hidden, I would try this mod (and hope my game would not be ruined by overpowered items or bugs). But I am new to SoZ and I do not want to ruin its feel, yet. Maybe I should try this when I am near done?
Nice addition to SoZ. I had the same bug with gnome leader as everyone else, fought him downstairs but upstairs he´s friendly and even helps me fight the demon.
Is there supposed to be any adventures to be found in halfling Village or just some trade?
After the inn with the demons and the 2 super-power items lying on floor, can´t remember the name, my npc´s were suddenly immortal. Took me a little time to realize so had saved after that. Anybody know if I can switch that off? My main can still be hurt but not the rest of the party, makes it all a little too easy

Really... this much spam?
OK R.E. Windows 7, I don't think this should work any differently. I have NWN2 working on Win 7 and you just put things in the same folder under My Documents (rather than the install folder).
R.E. The Gnome Hideout, no sorry, there is no short-cut for the door. With hindsight I should probably have made one. Maybe in debugmode you could force open it somehow, but I'm not sure. I could probably make a patch with a bypass option but the last patch I did didn't seem to work for everyone (must've made a mistake in it somewhere, but when I copied the working stuff into an override it messed it up). _________________________ In production: The Dragon Dynasty All my other stuff
Has anyone got this working with Windows 7 64 bit operation system? Just got a new machine and re-installed everything but it wont let me enter the first new dungeon "the sun draped den". It recognizes the object but never brings up the screen to enter.
In the mod instructions it says to place many files in "MyDocuments" which is in a different place in Windows 7 its in the "Users" folder instead of documents and settings like it used to be.
I copied the files there but that didnt work. Ideas?
